OMG im serious there use to be a time when I can com to MMORPG and go into the off topic FORUM for some brillent reading now it is a JOKE im sorry but it is so true hmm what are the current topics now??

You can always make your own thread starting jokes and ask people to add some. Or wait for someone else to do it then read it.

I mentioned that you must be American because I'm reading your thread complaining about its a "joke" on the OT forum due to the topics.
The simple thing to do would have been to start a thread called "JOKES! Here's a good one. Read it and add your own to keep the thread funny!" or something. Or "Here's something intelligent to talk about. What do you guys think?" But instead, you took the opportunity to make a rant thread complaining about plenty of post titles they made that they didn't have a problem commenting inside them, and for the most part seem to like to debate about those things.
As is typical with young Americans (I'm assuming both, I know) you have the perfect chance to do something that could improve your happiness, instead you choose to wait for someone else to do it and will wallow in the unhappiness you created here until then. That just struck me as a typically American mindset. This had nothing to do with you being unable or unworthy to post simply because you're American and not something else.
I hope you didn't take that as an insult that American sucks or something, because I'm American as well.

popinjay you are not reading in between the lines. It seems you do not get the intent of this THREAD that has nothing to do with JOKES. it is my opinion that there use to be intelligent writing in the off topic FORUM at one point here at MMORPG but not now it is more RANTS then anything else. so yes I agree it seems to I had to fight FIRE with fire. Because I can see your point being a man who is 40 so a wee bit wiser then some who may post trust me it has nothing to do with my happiness instead I have just asked the question that all in this community should ask themselves what happen to the commitment of values that we were taught as students?? instead we need instant gratification.
Lets take deviliscious for example who seems to try to gain the affection of some by making sexual reference in her SIG who is in her late 20's I would think she would have better things to comment about then a wise crack about this THREAD being a joke well hard to comment on that?? That would depend on this community if they can turn OT around and make it worth reading again. Yes I am issuing a challenge to all here at mmorpg to use their mind for a change please.
So Apparently popinjay you made a very good point about the AMERICAN mindset and thank you for adding to my point about the VALUE of topic for choice that it seems that only RANTING gets attention unfortunately in the OT forum.
Well, I'm not going to speak for the other posters here. They can speak for themselves, but I posted the following thread "Happy Digital Television Transition Day! (Does your television work?)" which you lumped with other post to say this about them:
Some people have not converted over to digital, as they have stated in the thread and they have given interesting reasons why. This event was nationally publicized and had been for some time, yet several million people are still "not ready", according to reports. I was curious if there were people on a site like this who were among them and there were.
The thread demeans no one and no poster inside was hostile towards or made fun of others for not converting. It's about as current, topical, and civilly relevant thread you can post. There was even a poster who pointed out that by doing this, cellular phone giants are just expanding their base and are being helped by the government. That's a pretty brilliant point to discuss if you ask me, no matter which side of that opinion someone is on.
I can understand if you're not happy discussing it because you've been "reminded" over and over again, but you can just skip over it. But because you are being reminded again of the switch, it doesn't make it any less postworthy to someone who hasn't, does it?
Again, if you would like to talk about something brilliant or interesting to you, why not post it and see if others would like to join you instead of thumbing your nose at what others wish to talk about.
Or course, if you'd rather talk about how supernovas are formed, or if the chicken or the egg came first, please start the thread so we all can read it.

I do apologize to you popinjay for I was not necessary trying to attack your post for that matter. I appreciate the fact you did try to make a good post on your topic about DTV thank you to say the least.

Don't give up on the off-topics. There are usually a few who like to derail them, or argue silly points just to win while in a thread later defend the same point they argued against before because now it's convienient, but overall most people who do post want to contribute to the threads and stay relatively on topic.
