"The MMO Gamer: You just uttered a very interesting phrase I don’t hear often when talking to MMO developers: “The end.”
Of course, that is the one thing all BioWare games have in common: They come to an end.
In The Old Republic, when you’ve reached the maximum level, will there be that point where the story that’s been building up since level 1 reaches a climax, and you finally get to face down Big Bad Guy X who’s been antagonizing you the entire time."

Read on and he mentions that a story arc might come to an end but there are still things to do, including pvp and raiding, as well as additional content to be added later. Taking a quote out of context does no one any good.
Uh huh and did you notice the pains they went to to point out that there would still be all of the other end game content that people do in traditional MMO's, such as raiding, crafting, grinding and regular questing and what not. Your main story line would eventually come to an end, but new chapters would be implemented in updates and expansions. So the end is only temporary and you have all the other boring assed old school MMO end game crap to keep you occupied for the interim.
With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal
lol @ the halfass pointless qoute meant to be taken out of context. op is trying to make a point I suspect that is unclear to the rest of us.
What do you do in any game or MMO when you fully level? Play the content that was out of reach to you, play expansion content or play thru the game again, but in TOR it will not be the same if you change classes. I guess we could just make a game with nothing but mission terminals for fun lmao. Booooo to only having mission terminals.
My guess pvp and raiding then waiting for expansion content. I'm sure many will be rolling many classes too.
This. Pretty much like every other mmo but with much more replayability. Don't know what caused everyone to become so cynical.

Because it the cool thing to be these days. xD

Because people still haven't digested the fact that Bioware is freakin awesome!
'The rest of us'? LOL. Go and cool off. I pasted the quote simply because it was an interesting take on the perennial challenge MMO designers face when they come to deciding the shape and nature of the end game.
Perhaps this link will help you.

Is there any indication as to how many character slots there are per account?

No idea yet.
Don't mind herbert, he is just trolling as usual.

I sure hope it is 8, but I wouldn't be suprised if it is 5, and you can only make the same faction on that server. Because that means more money for em.
I think op raises a valid point.
I can easily clock 30 hours per week on a good mmo and I tend to be very loyal to my class. They seems to suggest in the interview that we can just play one of the other characters for a new experience. While that sounds interesting it isn't really how I personally play a mmo - it sounds more like single player style.
My worries are that, once you have gone through the entire personal story, there won't be a hell of a lot more to do. I really hope they implement a way to improve your 'main' even after the story-end has been reached. I am basically hoping that I somehow can grind my character better for as long as I like. They will not be able to keep players such as I if the end-content is mostly player based pvp.
And I am worries because this game sounds very interesting; I am very much looking forward to it and I want it to become my next longterm mmo-fix
Guess you glossed over there being raids and pvp, completely didn't you?

"Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it," Double Fine President Tim Schafer said. "Oh great, now Beyonce is going to sue me too."
Being skeptical here.
What if the majority of your subscribers came to thie game, because they wanted to be immersed in story, then after they run through the eight story arcs, they don't like PvP, raids. Age of Conan sputtered because of weak end game content. WAR has/had their end game troubles. Hopefuly, Bioware is learning from the others..
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
Ya boo to mission terminals that leave the game in the players hands to create their own world. And yay to a funneling story line that you and every other class like you will do over and over again....and guess what?? you can do it 8 times for 8 different stories!!!! <sarcasm for the impaired>
NPC ran worlds=predictable, repetible and drab after the shine wears off.
Player ran worlds=unpredictable, diverse and almost never the same twice.
PIRATE LORDS
Well its a story driven MMO so im betting they will incorperate some for of "Faction Grind" for rewards of gold and gear involving missions. End game i can see coming from the Jedi Council or Galactic Council telling you and your friends to go kill this that and the other, likewise for the Sith.
Ive been dissappointed with most MMOs take on EndGame, or lack thereof, some of us, think of WoW end game as the perfect example of what it should be, but i would also like to see some form of PvP endgame similar to WAR, encorperate those 2 and this game can be sensational.
Every MMO i see now has "elements" of other games. i dont want elements, i want them to TAKE all the good stuff and put it all into TOR, an indepth galactic war, a small skirmish arena system, a well thought out 10 and 25 man dungeon effort, a form of reputation grind to get the best gear available (solo) that helps you in both pvp and pve.
MMO players are looking for something new (story driven) but also something old, the things they love from other games.
No I didn't, I even wrote "They will not be able to keep players such as I if the end-content is mostly player based pvp." Raids, pvp, crafting etc will only last for so long for players such as I. I simply fear they are underestimating how much a pve player will play and that this type of content will be exhausted too soon.
But this is all speculations of course.
