Ok my list. image

(1) I like to see in the Day time, bugs... wait a sec i mean bugs flying over dead stuff.

(2) Firefly's at Night-time..

(3) If were going to be Miners, maybe have rare ores, around hills, and in mines.

(4) This would be a fun Spell, able to increase your pet size by 2 times for 30 secs. Or make the pet smaller by 2 times for 30 secs.

(5) All kinds of Fruit Trees, to be able to pick from them. I'm sure they are many farms in Wish. :)

(6) See a Rock, Pick it up...See a Book, Open it up..

(7) Make Candy's, like chocolate...yummy

(8) Halloween, would be a time were we would be hunted in towns by the local graves.

During this time, people could get a mask and wear for fun, they only last for a few days.

(8) Christmas would be the time, we could give really cool gifts.

(8) Have whales, and other life in the seas. Have ships that would take us to other islands.

(9) Cooking, we could collect wild herbs and add these to cooking and making potions.

Well now its your turn.

Have a vast variety of recepies and spells and skills, so everyone regadless of "class" or profession would be unique

    1. Have a vast variety of recepies, spells and skills, so everyone regardless of "class" or profession would be unique
    2. Rare and unique equipment - again, to distinguish people and stimulate trade
    3. Different items/recepies/resources on different continets....this would really improve trade. So for example: continent/city 1 would exclucively have a special kind of ore, and continent/city 2 would exclusively have a rare flower for a recepies. This would REALLY promote trade
    4. Lot's of useless junk UO-like (chairs, statues for the house, etc)

Let me know your thoughts. It would also be nice to get Wish developers involved in this with their plans for the future.

I would like to see PNC as optional movement.

I don't know if it's there or not, but I would like to have a place to solo enemies if I want since it can be time consuming to find a group sometimes.

If this game was geared towards the UO players, then they should include a good PVP system that UO players knew and loved. Including dropping items and money when you die. Including being able to kill anyone you come accross if they're being stupid and upset you, or if you just feel like killing someone.

i give up the ghost on this game its not uo!!! To many fanboi carebears ruined it. Just let them play get bord and go onto the next game to whine and cry. Then destroy yet another game. Carebears are an infestation. I used to say live let live but they now ruin pvp games. Then get pissy when i speak about it. The markets saturated with piss poor games of just pve to support the lazy carebear. Why not let us have a good pvp game and leave us be. This game lost its direction long ago when they fired the originator.

    yawn ,flea1 is back

    Big Surprise

Wish has plenty of Pvp for anyone who wants to take part in it ,In fact you could play the game never leaving the Pvp area if you wanted to ..The area is Huge

Wish has never pretended to be a Full Pvp game .Not sure where you came up with that

Guess you'll have to call me a Fangirl in your next rant image

  • flea1flea1 Member Posts: 250

Hmm i posted on the vn boards that very question and got an answer no. There treating the pvp area as a second class citizen area. As far as where i got the game change in direction. Your hero vylle posted on here somewhere about it. The game had a different goal at one time.

    Hi There

I really glad that wish is not all PVP world..

My reasons why i hate all open pvp..

    Attacking lower lvl people!image

No safe zones, so this would make people not able to do solo! image

Getting attacked just after you have killed a Creature and you have low health!image

Who wants to be attacked by mobs and players at the same place?  I will not like it!  Call me a carebear...:)   I like to be able to pvp, when I'm ready! image

I say to those that like all PVP, theres many games out there for this. :)

I try out wish first.. On Dec-1! You just might love what Wish has to offer?  Heck nothing to lose here, just time. image

    Kind Regards,

    Tom

    Ill be back :)

I think there should be PvP anywere. Then we could just rely on a great community so you would not get killed low level. But i think its very important you can take on everyone everywere!!! God bless PvPimage

I mean seriusly thats whats its all about you dont train your char just so you can kill even greater monsters always. In the last end, the biggest challenge will always be PvP battle. But if Wish develops a bad community it could be a problem, then they would have to set restrictions i think. But i dont think wish is the kinda game that attracts those kinda players. I dont really think wish will need PvP restrictions. image

1 One idea I like is the idea of unique treasures, I mean 50 people with the same ultimate sword +30 is kinda silly.

    2 Spellcrafting would be good

3 I'd like to see places that one could have if you clear it out, say you defeat all the creatures in a haunted house, the house could be yours.

4 I would like the idea of having books you could write in like uo, after all if there are going to be scholars they should have someplace to write about what they find, or even have a library to put their books in.

5 (for those who want to arena pvp or do it in the area allowed for it) pvpers in the arena should get unique prizes if they win a particular competition or group battle.

6 If this enemy is as well organized and everything like they're suppose to be I'd love to see some huge wars going on occasionally

As for complete pvp, LII proved that didn't work, I spent most of my time trying to protect some noobs from some guy who had nothing batter to do than grief(and if anyone ever played it even after the patches griefing is still relatively easy to do.) I know I didn't have to do it, but you take someone like that guy who just wants to pick on new players, most people don't pvp they grief and it sucks, the closest I've ever seen to pvp being equal is Shadowbane.  I do think a pvp area is a good idea I like to do it occasionally myself. If someone wanders into one of those areas and wants to stay and they can't handle it, then they get what they deserve. Too bad more people don't think like Lasbas, some pvp guild wars would be nice.

What I don't understand is why a group of people who don't even really want to play a game like this would complain about pvp.  I mean if you really want to play the game, then thats really not the most important part of this particular game, just play LII or Shadowbane, or any other of a number of online games and pvp to your hearts content.  Not every game is for every person.

Maybe in a perfect world. For anyone who played UO from the beginning it's obvious that it would never happen. You'll always have PK guild camping near town gates waiting for enyone to come out. This completely ruins the whole experience for a lot of people. Don't get me wrong, PvP is great. It's the greatest challenge in any game, but people should not be forced nor should they be forcefully involved in it. The idea for the game is to attract different groups of people, PvPers, PvEers, role players, crafters.....if you're looking for a straght up PvP game - look into Guild Wars, Wish is probably not for you.

Being more of a community-player, and seeing the last post concerning the design option for the player character (morphing of the features, probably similar to what Eve-Online uses for the portrait I guess), I'd *love* to have a slider to fluidly change the facial expression of my char ... at least between smiling and frowning (I wrote something about that in the official Eve-online forum when I talked about having some kind of 3D avatar chillout zone in the stations)

basically, it would be like a cross-bar :

                           SMILE

                              I

                              I

         SAD      - - -   O  - - -      HAPPY

                               I

                               I

                            ANGRY

Only data that is to be sent to the server (and subsequently to the other player's client) is the X/Y poisiotn of the cursor (symbolized by the O in the very crude ASCII drawing up there). Depending on the position, the bones in the face (3D morphing bones I mean) would move between the 4 different expressions, allowing the char to be more expressive, instead of a fixed expression, no matter what.

Actually, you could do some simple parsing on the text writen by the player and convert the sileys to facial smiles and frowns on the fl, while stil keeping the crossbar thingy for more subtile expressions (angry but enjoying it .... sad smiles ... etc)  ... oh well .. i'm dreaming again ...

This may be a long post so be patient.  I have played many RPG's both online, offline, and PnP.  I also play first person shooters like Delta Force.  I love playing ranger/hunter type characters, and I have noticed one thing about every single MMORPG out there.  Everyone wants to treat Archery like its a melee skill.  You get a bow it has a damage and delay, you fire it.  Then you stand there like an idiot while the monster runs up to you and beats the living daylights out of you.  Because of that treatment very few people play archery type characters.  A lot of people say if you liked UO your going to love Wish.  How many archers did you ever see in UO.  The occasional new player who wanted to be an archer.  Then after trying it he dumps the bow picks up an axe and never looks back.  Well I am dieing to play Wish, but if the Archery works the same as it did in UO, I will just have to be the dumb tank like everyone else.

Why can't Archery be a little more realistic?  I would suggest treating it more like a first person shooter, because after all isnt that what you are doing?  If you equip a bow and target a creature you get a targeting reticle.  Maybe two concentric circles.  As you stand still and aim the outer circle converges on the inner circle and when they meet it means you are aiming for the sweet spot with a good chance of one-hitting.  I say one-hit and everyone jumps up and down and says "that's not fair" "that's unbalanceing".  Is it?  It takes time for your targeting reticle to converge.  You can fire at any point in the aiming cycle and do damage, but if you stand and wait for that sweet shot why cant it one-hit just like hunting in real life.  I would argue that archery in any game hasnt been equal to melee or spell casting, thus very people are archers.  If you wanted to rapid fire then after you fire your first shot the reticle could go red for the duration of your bows reuse timer, then green when you can fire again, or you wait for the circles to converge.

In real life you track your prey, you sneak up on your prey, and then you wait for the right shot.  You aim for the vulnerable spot and then hope you kill the prey in one arrow.  Why shouldnt a game be the same way?  You track your prey with your tracking skill.  You stealth up on it with your hide/sneak/steath skill.  Then you aim and wait.  You wait for the perfect shot.  If you think about it, the time it takes to wait for that perfect shot would be about the same time it takes for a fighter to take 4 or 5 swings, which is about the same amount of damage.  The only difference is that instead of shooting you bow then trying to shoot in melee while your getting your lightly armored head beaten in, you take your time for the shot.  As your skills improve you can reduce the time it takes for the reticles to converge, factor in a few things like the bow itself and your natural abiblities and wala, you have an archer that really is an archer.

It may be too late to see something like this in Wish, but you have to start change somewhere.

Well I can tell you that...

    - There are fireflys in certain areas.

     - There are rare versions of all metals in the game.

    - We've got a wide variety of trees and herbs to harvest.

    - As well as a variety recipes for food.

    - We don't have Halloween and Christmas specifically. Ganedan has it's own unique holidays.

     - We also have recipes to craft equipment.

    - We have recipes that can only be gained through live content, for crafting "unique" weapons.

I have been playing mmorpgs since UO, heck been playing online games since the days of MUDs.  I truly enjoy PvP, I like the thrill of being on a raid in enemy territory.  The blood pounding as you trade blows with your enemy and the satisfaction of the kill.  That being saidt the simple fact is you can't have an open PvP system without inviting mass griefing.  A brief example loved UO until one day I logged out and went to sea for a month.  When I can back is seems that a thief had followed me into my house taken my key and stole everything from me.  I logged back on standing outside my house unable to get in.  Thats the day I quit playing UO.  Systems that allow corpse stipping and newbie griefing should never be allowed or encouraged.  I also got sick of being ambushed by multiple member gank squads just running around causing problems.

What I would like to see in wish is movable battle lines an ever changing line of combat.  Hard points like keeps allow PvP in an area around it pushing the lines allow you to get farther into enemy lands.  To the goodstuff.  I know this can't happen since we are all supposed to be on the same side but it would be nice.

I have read most of the posts and the things I'd like to see most are:

1.) Skill trees that are varied and diverse and do not sacrifice learning. I.E. be able to major in as may disiplines as you like without affecting anything you have already learned. Just because you switch to another skill set to change your charecters gameplay and round out your charecter does not mean you loose anything you have already learned or aquired. Also Dual Wield specialties!!!! After all .. You got two hands use them both if you can!!!

2.)Crafting skills - By combining certain skill types players can create weapons and artifacts based on their skill levels or can combine their skills to imbue properties to Weapons, armor and atifacts

3.) More attention to Archery Skills. I live for RPG and FPS games and the draw back of all the RPG's is that archery/sniper is never developed to the point that you can use it effectiveley. If My skill is high enough I should be able to sneak up and put an arrow through a boars skull and watch it drop. Never mind this back up and run while pot shotting arrows to wear the beast down. Thats fine if you do not have the skill to sneak/stealth to try and make that first shot count but aty least give us a FPS recepticle. Make it a skill and make it reflect what it would be like. Also add differenct types of arrows, and bows and sights. Want some clues as to how, Play THEIF and you'll know what I mean, one shot - one kill ... if placed right. Just compensate for the effectiveness of this with skill levels. Read MasterChaos's post above ... he's got it right!

4.)If PVP is going to be such an issue then along with the PVP areas create Roman type coliseums In cities. That way if someone wants to earn a living as a Gladiator or PVP they can. Make Matches by skill level and higher money/prizes for winning against a higher skill levels or against something with long odds. Also Allow the players to challenge, accept and decline challenges. This should alleviate some of the PVP contention out of the game. A player can challenge same level or higher but not lower. A challenge to fight a lower player must be initiated by a lower player to a higher level player and then can be accepted or declined also the wager must be made and can be negotiated before acceptance of a PVP match. Also NPC/Monster/Player/Group vs Player/Group battles in the arena would be cool and also cool to watch, Hell charge admission, make it a guild.

5.) If trade is going to be a part of the game then everything must be able to be found, built, mined, grown and harvested, bought and sold. Everything.

6.) Actual ships and Sea transport, life in the sea along with all the perils and rewards that go with it.

7.) I like the Idea of Librarys that people can submit to.

8.) Better graphics, Ditingusable Charecters. Like Charecters able to have tatoos, haircuts even nose bones if they want and be distigushable and customizeable.

9.)Mounts, Enough of this running around on foot, give us the skill to tame certain animals and buy and trade them as mounts. In this way you can also bring in effective units such as Calvary or War elephants ect when battles take place. All of this costs money though and the sponsors/guilds/cities/states would be financially responsible for maintaining army or some of its mounts.

10.) If you want a war then make it epic ... with siege engines, war mounts, Calvary, footman, pikeman ect. all in rank, colors, guilds, against a sea of enemies.

11.) If there are to be wars then the encroaching  enemie should be able to take over almost all the land if not met with resistance and epic battles to push them back.

12.)Good community and game play. I'm very interested in seeing this as a final product and am hoping it surpasses all the hype when its finally released.

    Anyways I digress ... "WISH..full" thinking ... ????

Three cheers for the suggestions pertaining to archery.

As for things I would like to see, I really hope that if the decide to have skills decrease through disuse, then it is at a slow rate. This would allow truly dedicated player to master several skills, rather than mastering one only to lose it when you work at another. (skills= crafting, smithing, battle techniques, etc.)

Good economy can make for a wonderful game. The auction house is one of the very few things that I completely enjoyed about FF11.

I love the fact that this game has PvP areas, not straight PvP. I love PvP sometimes.

Otherwise, as I have said previously, in my mind Wish is the one game that i am truly looking forward to in 2005 (?).

I'd like to see "affinity" for hunting.  Specifically what this means is that your character could become Saint George or Van Helsing.  Saint George of course is known as a great Dragon Slayer, and Van Helsing is recognized as a great Demon Slayer.

So I'm asking that as you kill more and more lizards, and cave dragons, and wyverns that your character grows an affinity for killing Dragons.  And you gain not only a name as a Dragon  Slayer but also a damage modifier to Dragons so that your hits do more damage to the foul beasts.

Same with ghosts and wraithes and vampires.  You become a Vampire Slayer with a damage modifier for undead.

Same with Demons.  And Sea Monsters.  And Birds.  And Mammals.  And everything else.  Of course, you can only have one affinity to prevent against people becoming Undead Flying Sea Dragon Slayers.

  • delinquentdelinquent Member Posts: 16

    I like that affinity idea.

One question, how would you get around the fact that early on, (even if it is not "grind" based leveling) you're more likel to be killing lizards and birds? I mean, unless someone would go completely out of their way to avoid any sort like creature through the early stages, chances are you're not going to be  out slaying dragons or lichs in your first week. (I hope I'm wrong, and then life would be good)

    Just a question  :O)

the way I would work it:

frogs and lizards tend to dragons

    birds tend to pheonixes

bears and mammals tend to yetis and behemoths

skeletons and attic ghosts tend to liches and vampires

fish tend to giant squids and sea monsters, etc... so you still have lvl 1 "dragons" to kill.

but hey, it's just an idea image

i would like to see factions added back into the game ,

or "hate levels for mobs", and knowing that if i do not kill one paticular type of mob then i generaly do not have to worry about argo from them latter on

i do not want to see critters 5 + levels below me attacking me then due to lag or server issues die from it

if i kill 500+ plus of a mob i want a chance of an on level item; and or being albe to complete the quest for 12/parts of quest

would love to be albe to explore the world gingerly carefuly without being "locked from certain areas"

Mounts, for all tour routes, viable bind spots, instant recall, real NPCs

Something to do besides just combat, a place to gather for players to just chat

Party Clothes, dyes, Seen cloaks, buffing working outside of groups, fly by heals, or fly by "helps from other people

viable solo areas in all levels, no forced grouping, no You have to do a speifci quest to get past a certain level

Quests at certain levels for certain items fine but no axcess or half to forced quests

wide level grouping, including more then 6

free training when obtained level or player training from others when recieved skill

old math (x ammount of green blue yellow red)  point system for mob encoutners

simple chat guild/spatial/group/tell that work and not lagged to heck

Changeable ui with font size options

when fighting a mob if worked on distance no shared space of mob

needed items found in world not just from player crafted, they do not have to be as good as player crafted but at least usable and equipable loot i.e. if you hunt you get and can take care of your toons needs without having to be a poor mouse

    end game content..............
