Vanguard's pretend free month

am i the only one who is trying to play thier free month of Vanguard to see if they want to resub, only to login 8 times out of 10 to see....

Did you actually hit the login button? When it says 'All servers are up", that is when I expect to see them down. Just hit the login anyway...you will prolly get in.
yeah i do, but half the time it just sits there and waits for my characters to load, and they never do.
Maybe you can check the official forum and see whether the server is being bring down for maintenance...

this is partly my point, they never used to do this much "maintinence" and if its not maintinence, it's server crashes.
Lots of folks playing VG => VG runs like poop => lots of folks quit VG => give the hamsters a break => VG runs great => folks come back to see what the "VG runs great" talk is all about => runs like poop again <loop x infin>
Just don't play and it will run great!
If only it had manual targeting, I would come back in a heartbeat!. But sadly it will never happen.
Actually the "All servers are down" message is a bug with the launcher. If you really can't log on it's not because the servers are down.
Welcome to VG! we got more bugs than you know what to do with! Hell, our freaking launcher is bugged! haha J/K VG is actually pretty nice ATM.

Never had any problems logging in even when it says All servers down.
yeah im quitting, gonna play Aion and mortal online when they come out, guess i'll fire up my xbox to kill time between betas.
No mate... the servers are up.
And it was not pretend free month. I got game reactivated and played it to my hart content.
I re-installed last night, patched up in 1 hour and logged into my old account fine - this isn't a 'pretend' free month.
I did see the 'All Servers Down' message though, but it looked to be related to the patch notes listed below for the 2nd June (if i remember right!)

for those of you that are not aware "pretend" as in the characters don't even load half the time to select them to start the game, or the servers are down for "maintinence"
I use the station launcher and have been able to log in whenever I attempted to play. I am able to play my old characters as well as create new ones.
They've said that for quite some time now... but the servers are actually just fine.
I was having issues with being able to login to Vanguard and also into my old EQ accounts but once I switched to the Station Launcher everything worked fine and all my characters were back and fine.
I see this as well. Just ignore it.

I resubbed about a month ago and never have had a problem logging in. Sometimes it does say "All Servers Are Down" but just click the "Play" button and you should get right in.
Seems lots of people have problems with LOTS of different games. Not sure why, but maybe you're running crappy programs on your system and in the background. Maybe some people are downloading music and other crap known to contain viruses and other assorted malware.. Who knows. But it seems if you keep your system pristine for gaming, you'll have MUCH less issues.
Point is.... It's usually the system someone has that's the issue, not the game. Not 100% true, but makes sense to me. I keep my system pristine for game playing ONLY and use standard named brand hardware and never have a problem with any game, single player or MMO.
Anyway, my 2 coppers.
I use station launcher. I've never had a problem logging in. I generally don't play in the mornings PST, but do play in the evenings. Perhaps you play at a time that coincides with there normal maintenance time. I think they do maints like once a week or so and usually for a couple hours. Patches or game updates might be longer and following a major update they might have a couple of patches.
I think that the vanguard launcher is being slowly done away with. You can find it at launcher.station.sony.com/ it is still listed as beta but it is the only thing I've used in the past year or more. Even better they are adding voice chat to station launcher and integrating it with some of there games.
