Im looking for an mmo that has a mature community, friendly people.. and a social enviroment that can foster good relationships I know is a hard one there are always inmature people on every game.
I am just seriously looking to make friends on a mmo, join a guild and enjoy the game. Not second life, but a game were i can join a guild and go out and do stuff together.. Not a hardcore guild like wow guilds that turn the game into a job.
Any other game besides ffxi been playing that for too long, need something else.
Thank you.

Lord of the rings online is the best way you can go so much to explore and the best lore u can get in a mmo.
My fav server is "Elendilmir"
but it is not a game for players that try to get to lvl cap as fast as possible and then raid 24/7 like in wow or eq2
if u love raiding go with eq2
I agree with the other poster - they say LOTRO has a "mature" community. Raiding in LOTRO is a light version of EQ, EQ2, or WoW raids. Everything is solo friendlier than in those games too. I probably had bad luck running only into impatient and bored lvl 50 players but perhaps with the expansion those got something better to do than annoy people.
If you do not care so much for graphics and having everything directly handed to you with little effort i have an insider hint for you: Try Ryzom. Only met mature and friendly players there so far and the game offers alot for solo, duo and groups - have not seen raids there yet, so i will not comment them.
I am a veteran of many MMOs, and I have played both FFXI and LoTR, but by far, the most mature community I have found is that within EQ2.
Both in the forums and in game you will find that to be true. I did recently move on from that game, but that is mainly because I am getting married soon and will have very little time to dedicate to my online family.
Once you start the game, all you have to do is announce that you are a new player looking for a "insert type of guild here" and you will get several tells from guilds that would take you. (provided you are logged in during the prime time hours... they do work after all).
FFXI to me felt too hardcore in its utter need for groups, and LoTR felt like a solo-fest to max level. EQ2 strikes a good balance. There is solo content up to maximum level, and grouping starts at level 10, with the first multi-group zone at level 25 (City Raid writs). While it is an older game and most of the veteran players have their mains at maximum level, its a game that plays well with alts, and which you will enjoy the moment you get into a guild.
