Maybe someone who has read up a lot on Aion, or played on the chinese servers can tell me, but whats with these 3 strike and 4strike weapons.
90% of the time I had an ugly 3strike mace for my chanter, and it was always 1big hit 2 small hits. when i tried out a gladi and got myself a 4strike weapon, it was the same, 1 big hit 3 small hits.
Is there any real difference in the number of strikes a weapon gets? or is it just some flavor so things feel different from other games. with all the strikes critting together, using one soulshot-whatever, I really havn't seen how they are different from just all being 1strike weapons, but I havn't had too much time with them so maybe someone could enlighten me.

Ya it is what it is, dagger is a one strike, sword is two and so on, sometimes the first and last hits are big. It hasnt meant allot to me nor has it been a let down...I simply dont care and I just pay att. to overall damage.
BUT with the part where you said "ugly weapon" after lvl 30 weapons and armor are reskinable...you can take a wpn you got at lvl 20 (say it was some cool ass looking weapon) and skin it over your god like weapon you got at lvl 35 that looks like a fly swatter or w/e
PIRATE LORDS
I meant ugly as in the type of weapon. the maces and staves look terrible, when the swords and polearms look great, pretty much all the weapons look great except the ones healers use.
also that first and last hit being big, I think you were seeing the total. on a 3strike mace, you get 1 big 2 small, and then a 4th number will appear, you aren't actually doing that damage extra, thats the game adding up the 3 numbers for you, which when it shows you what your 3strike weapon does in 1 number, it further begs the question: "why are there multistrike weapons at all?"

wow that's a relief. I already dreaded the ginormous weapons that are rampant in asian mmos. seeing a skinny guy wielding a sword the size of a school bus just removes all sense of immersion for me.
I thought the staves looked awesome.

You will still get to see them on other peeps. I really do like the ability to change your weapon to look like what you want thou. I am looking forward to playing Aion some this weekend.
