Ok so what game will you be leaving to come play Aion ? Rumor has it that a September release date might be on the way but nothing confirmed yet. Can't wait til launch!
I'm going to be waiting six months for them to work out any problems ( if any ) with the North American release.
( I wish I had done that for DF, but that's another can of worms ).
As I've gotten older, I'm more willing to wait for a game to take the time to either have a smooth launch, or patch up whatever problems pop up unexpectedly.
For you brave types, have fun, and it will be interesting watching the posts about the game.....

WAR was my first and only impulse MMO buy and it will be my last. My rule is 3 months if it has raving reviews and few problems and 6 months if it has huge problems/ poor reviews even if its only from the launch (i.e Darkfall)
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

I hear this a lot. But when it releases here it will have been out in Asia for a year. The patches we get are the patches the Asians got. The western version is not being developed, there will be no western patches. They will simply apply the patches that came out in Korea over the last 12 months. Out of the box the game will already be 'fixed'. So if you are waiting for patches, you are waiting for nothing.
I read that quest givers have only rough translations into English of quests, and vendors also have problems with translations, so thanks, but I'll wait anyhow.
And I'm quite certain that there will be several patches applied before I get into the game.
Aion will be a waystation for me. I'm waiting for Guild Wars 2 and the new Star Wars mmo but until then I'll be playing Aion. If I am enjoying the game when those others come out then I'll continue playing. What game am I coming from? Not really anything, I quit WoW 6 months ago and really just playing Guild Wars every now and then. Hopefully Aion turns out well.

Way station for me also as I wait on FF XIV and Heroes of Telara, coming from EQ2

Everything is fully translated to the point in the game I got but there were still grammatical and spelling errors, even in some cut scenes. I made a post about it on the closed beta forums and a dev responded saying they are working hard to have that perfect for release. Hopefully that is the case, or at least mostly fixed, as that sort of thing really sends out a free to play vibe.

That's what I was talking about, and I also hope that they get all that squared away for a trouble free NA release.

Remember what version the CB was in (1.02.10v) that client & english pak was an older version. You will see in the next few beta's with newer versions the english pak will improve.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

My guild just left WarHammer and most of us are either testing AION or tested it on the Chinese version, everyone was thumbs up as well as 3+ other allied guilds.
And as far as translation of vendors or quests...so far I'm lvl 32 and only one quest is not translated and that's it, AND that is with an unofficial English patch that wasn't made by the game developers....
Ya..the North American release with be a great success I believe at launch and I have been playing and testing games for many years.
I don't play any game at the moment so I won't leave any for AION.
Same here. I only play a free MMO every now and then while I wait for Aion to come out, but it's so rarely that I really can't call it "leavling" for Aion.
It really doesn't seem worth it to start on any other game now that Aion WILL release this fall.
We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.
I agree that I am not in a hurry to blow another $100 on an impulse buy for a hyped MMO. I totally wasted my cash wiith the retail game + 1 month sub in AoC, and the game + 3 month in WAR.
I cancelled my recurring WoW subscription finally in May, and although the sub runs through July I am not logging on. We have been messing around with RoM a bit, but am looking at Aion and possibly DC Universe next.
I did not feel the loss of leaving WoW after all these years that I did after leaving EQ after 5+ however.
Good hunting,
Malikye Now Playing: WaW2 Played: EQ - 5.5 yrs, WoW - 4.5 yrs, Diablo, Myth2, Tried: AoC (played it about 3 times that month), WAR (fun for a month), RoM (sorta, Aion (for 2 months), Allods (bored at lvl 13). Impulse buy? You know you can play it for free in CN and test it out? And that its been released in South Korea and China for awhile now?
Hyped? - publicize in an exaggerated and often misleading manner
How is a game that's already playable and released "hype"? A lot of us know what to expect because the gameplay is based upon experience of playing it. It's not exaggerated or misleading unless you're misleading yourself.

I've actually just left Aion to go back to LoTRO, do I count?
They had that $9.99 per month sale and it was a much better deal.

Well, technically I can't leave any game since Aion is not out yet (for my region).

I don't play any game at the moment so I won't leave any for AION.

the goddess descends from the sky, wings of light and dark spread afar.

Still playing Guild Wars here until Aion official launch.

The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
I'm left EQ 1. (Heh I know, I know, I was trying to relive old times on the progression servers.)
I'm not really leaving any MMORPG for Aion, quite frankly there's nothing to play. But I am leaving Aion for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
