UO, EQ and AC from the past.  Currently the only game that has captured my attention like that is the game that I am playing now which is Age of Conan.  I absolutely love the game.

Aion I believe. Of course, I would say EQ, Shadowbane, and AutoAssault was for me also.

MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

Since then I have played and tried almost every MMO and some were fun for a few months but most were a let down. I love PVP and player driven worlds vs PVE and NPC controlled and generic worlds.
As far as fun factor I will list in order a few but I will leave allot out.
    1) SWG preCU (a very unique system and player ran and driven story/world/economy)
    2) Dark and Light (despite its many problems and let downs including cheating GM's the end game was fun concerning the fight and control over lands and player made keeps/castles.
    3) Vanguard FFA (was a very dangerous place and this made it exciting and kept you on your toes, shame that SOE took over and totally turned it into a poorly ran POS)
    4) WarHammer (it had allot of great ideas and concepts but was to much of a funnel and the server/engine couldn't handle funneling all the players into areas)
I prob would have loved early UO as well but at that time I spent to much time running a business.
As for now, without experiencing the full end game yet I will estimate that AION could be a new # 2 but so far SWG preCU far surpasses all of the above and any others.

Most surprising answer so far is Dark and Light.

And, the question is the LAST MMORPG you played that was really fun! and you weren't disappointed you bought it.

So, since Warhammer is the most recent release, and it's on your list, I suppose your answer is Warhammer?

Or are you saying Warhammer sucked, and the last game you really enjoyed playing was SWG?

MMOs on the whole are pretty poor... I can count the ones that have made me go "wow" on one hand...

    In chronological order:

Star Wars Galaxies - Just plain good
City of Heroes - Just plain fun
Guild Wars - Great PvP and story
Vanguard - Like WoW or EQII but good (in my opinion of course)

That's out of the 30+ MMOs I've played. Some I played for a matter of minutes before knew almost instantly how bad they were. I always persist for a few days or weeks but my initial reaction is usually correct.

MMOs played (In order of how much I've liked them): Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Vanguard, City of Villains / Heroes, Guild Wars, Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa, Anarchy Online, Ryzom, Final Fantasy XI, Matrix Online, RF Online, Rappelz, Hero Online, Roma Victor

If you're referring to this current "beta" that's going on right now, it's really a finished game just with english translations.

LotRO's private betas were a lot fun. Especially the final event before launch. Huge troll invasions. GM controlled baddies. Tons of people all over the place.

    Current: None
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, LotRO, EVE, AoC, VG, CO, Ryzom, DF, WAR
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, EQ2, CoS, FE, UO, Wurm, Wakfu
Future: The Repopulation, ArcheAge, Black Desert, EQN

My answer is SWGpreCU #1 overall

I was disappointed that after 3 years SOE screwed the pooch with it but I played it aain just b4 WarHammer released and it still has one of the most diverse and unique systems for a sandbox experience of which I am a fan of. I just don't trust SOE as whole anymore.

So tired of a fantasy-midevil settings and if the new Star Wars doesn't satisfy we are talking about going back to SWG despite a distrust of SOE..time will tell.

Dark and Light had a large world which was cool and some cool aspects, flying mounts, gliding, snow boarding down mountains and most of all custom built keeps/castles that you could place protect and attack for land control or world control...to bad there were so many other things wrong with it.

Save for AION in which I am currently play testing and enjoying on the Chinese version, War Hammer was the last I played and it had lots of good aspects but overall a let down mainly (for me) due to a game engine/servers that couldn't handle their endgame concept. While the experience I wouldn't say sucked but the overall endgame became mainly unplayable, un-enjoyable or very frustrating due to a funneling experience and server crashes. I believe players are still leaving in droves (from what I hear).

Since you said FUN, I will say Huxley.

Although it doesnt bring anything new and innovative just solid gameplay and good graphics.

    Own, Mine, Defend, Attack, 24/7

I would have to say the last game was requim bloodymare just something about knocking limbs off mobs great fun for what it is.

But other than that only been two others that I have had a lot of fun playing. SWG pre cu still haven't found something to suck me in like that game did.

but other than that Lotro was really fun. Though i'm not sure if it was that it was fun or that the graphics were so nice and it was middle earth that made me play so long.

Ohh i almost forgot ffxi was some of the most fun i have had in an mmo. So i guess i lied about not finding something since swg that sucked me in.

So swg and FFXI are the only two games that totally immersed me into the game. no others have done that for mmo's

At the risk of being labelled a carebear kiddie, I'd have to say World of Warcraft.  I clearly remember the 2 things that initially floored me:

    1.  Hey, where are the zone loading screens?, and

    2.  Jumping on a griffon for the first time

I don''t really know when Humankind will die out but i''m guessing about 6 years before WOW.

Aion.  I knew from all the previews, reviews, and articles I read about the game that it would be fun, but when I finally got to play the game, I was still surprised by how happy I was with it.

Tbh, the game isn't EXACTLY what im looking for, but I think it has enough to keep me occupied for a long time.

im stiil waiting for a game to give me the feeling i got from everquest.... Its hard to get that WOW! feeling when i feel im deep in a big money scam. Everquest didnt give me that "wow this game it all about money, and not truly about the love for game or player" feeling untell luclin'ish. Mabey someday someone will get it right haha

Currently Playing:nothing Have Played: WoW GW LoTRO Last Chaos Maple story 2 Moons Lunia Perfect World Archlord Silkroad FFXI EQII Vanguard Age of Conan

Well, the first was RS since it was my first MMO. Always something to do in that game (grind or not!) and quests are unlike any other MMO. The last one... hah, hard to remember. I'd have to say AoC, just because of the polished first 20 levels and the combat (though I found it easier to spam spells on my Demo). However, it didn't last very long.

Right now I have to say Aion.  Maybe just because that it is new and shiny, but there is something about it that just... It's like my favorite pair of shoes.

    SWG. Sadly <_<

I am not picky for mmo's either,it's just I need something with depth while still having good action and community.

City of Heroes.  I really hope Champions can deliver that same kind of enjoyment.

Actually I think SWG was the last time I did it as well. The Vehicles in that game both on and off planet really did it for me. If the jump to light speed expac had taken off and more people had been interested in space combat I would still be playing.

Most of the time while playing WOW.  Briefly in WAR during close scenarios against other guild groups.

Guild Wars, nothing beats a good ole Sorrow's Furnace runs for green items and Thunderhead Keep missions back in the good ole Prophecies days.
