What will you do for all you FF vets out there?
Or even to those not playing FF: Will you bring back a similar character from another game to FFXIV?
I don't know if I want to make another new character or just give my FF character another adventure!

I was young, foolish and gave my FFXI character long, girly hair. I won't be making that mistake again in XIV. As far as type of character, yes, I'll probably replicate it, whoever brings the pain with a 2hander and (hopefully) uses magic will be my character

I dunno, my original character and name in FFXI on the Seraph server was a Mithra Samurai by the name of Mercredi. Unfortunately for me I had no idea that that translated to Wednesday in French and I was pestered and reminded of that by damn near everyone I grouped with or ran by!
I later restarted as a Hume WHM on Ifrit by the name of Kiyoko, where I earned the reputation of the WHM whom never quit and ran every melee player into the ground. I swear when I played I kept a chart of all the people I partied with each time and I'd go through between 15 and 35 different players of Melee and DPS before I had my fill. I got swamped with /tells before my character finished loading into the world. Those were good time, until someone decided to ruin my name and made a character called Kyoko also a Hume WHM and was horrible....other players started getting us mixed up eventually!
A WHM that stuck around for more than 1-3 hrs was very rare in the early days of FFXI! I'd usually do 12-18hrs stretches...daily!

I'll be bringing back my old character Varesh, hopefully a better-realized version thanks to updated graphics and a seemingly more-flexible combat system.
I will most likely make my old character but make him look older this time around. (hopefully we have better character constumization)

I had the elvaan with the cocky smirk on his face and spiky blond hair. He started to look like a real a**hole to me after awhile and his he didnt seem to fit my favorite Job (Samurai). After 4 years I was attached to him but didnt really want to be. I'm hoping we will have more customization options in FFXIV and this time I'm making an older looking character with longer hair that would fit the Samurai class more. I'm will be sticking to the Elvaan looking race though.
I like the idea of an "older" looking character. Maybe I'll do that, but maybe I'll just do "The Son of..." and start someone who looks similar to my current one.

That would Be sweet. Haveing a title that says Son of, Or Child of ect.. Heck yeah Im game

I wont be bringing back my FFXI char name because WoW ruined it. It was Deathknight. And I was playing FFXI before WoW was close to launch. Hell I didnt even know about WoW. Only thing similar will be that I play hume male char.

As far as character model goes, I'm kinda torn on this question.
On the one hand I didn enjoy being a galka with my favorite classes (mainly melee damage dealers/tanks) and the general comradery I saw in Galka that I came in contact with that I never saw between other races. But on the other hand with how the mage subjobs came into play so often I went through a time where I hated playin because of leveling those subjobs. As for now I think I shall wait to see if any new races are released that are suited to the melee roles I love. If not I'll probably roll another galka (or maybe elvaan for higher str but idk lol)
Class-wise its a no brainer.
If there is a class like puppetmaster, that's what im playing. period. I LOVED the class. FFXI imo had the best pet class ive ever seen in an MMO with PUP. It really felt like a partner rather than an expendable ally. /cry i miss you Otto! To whoever is designing classes: please make me a PUP! Don't make it into another class like every other pet class and turn PUP into another archer with a pet! I wanna melee and be right in the thick of things just like my pet!
Dragoon was another cool class for me because i think dragons are cool so having my own wyvern was awesome. Not to mention spears are cool and they had the sexiest AF haha.
Name-wise I'll be lookin for a new one. Name was Minotaur and everyone called me mino. Wasn't bad but I'd like somethin that sounds more like a name...
