Is EQ2 more processor (like most games) or more vid card heavy (eg Doom 3)? Im hoping its more processor heavy because i have a semi-high end processor (3.2GHz P4 Prescott) but only a mid-range vid card (9600XT)
thanks

I would say video card. Your card will be fine. Its mainly important to have a CPU that can keep up with your video card. If you had a 2.0ghz P4 and a Geforce 6800 GT you probly wont get maximum performance from your video card.

Your cpu is just fine. If you were thinking of upgrading then a new video card would'nt hurt, though you would be just fine with the one you have.
my advice, get 2 gigs of ram, i have noticed that EQ2 is unforgiving about ram, i have 1024mb's,(my computer with all the processes at start up runs at 700mb of ram so do the math.) and boy lemme tell ya after 3 hours of str8t combat i got 40mb of ram left!! so if you got 2 gigs for ram in Dual Chanell mode (make sure ram is the same in every way) you should be fine.
Your video card should do fine as well.. it cant help to upgrade but from whats happening on my computer ram is my next upgrade.. DDR2 here i come.

Your system will do fine, yeaps.
I balive the game will run smoother with a high CPU and a mid range GPU since the CPU affect your whole system while the GPU does not.
I do not belive you need 2Gig of Ram. Make sure you kill all the little programs that lay in the background. MSN, Internet Explorer and others. And if it seems like you need more ram, I bet its cause EQ2 has memory leaks. Then its not much you can do, exept restarting the game now and then, and ya dont wanna do that now do ya?
A CPU running at Intell 2.5GHz(AMD 2500+) speed and a 200-250$ Grapix card should do fine, if ya combo it with 1Gig Ram and a defragmented Harddrive with a high Virtual Memory seting(twice your Ram size).

You should be fine with that set up just make sure your swapfile is optimal and I suggest making a batch file to stop any services, remove bogus background tasks.
net stop <services> etc
taskkill msmgs.exe etc.
Should be able to find more details through a decent search engine.
You can go to control panel->adm tools->services and remove a lot of useless stuff windows has. If you're not running a server, first thing is to disable server and computer browser(theyr linked). Then there is more, like remote registry crap and such. You can do a search on the internet in order to know exactly what you can disable.
got to blackviper.com and follow the guide there, that should help as well..
Oh and more ram can never hurt, unless the ram has a lot of errors
