Don't give yourself a headache by fretting over this game too much.

    Just go buy it.

It's alot better than SWG in every aspect.

    1. Yes. But not like in boring SWG where they were generated and you just had to kill a nest.
    2. Yes. You can buy mounts, although quite expensive. Paladins and Warlocks get a free mount though.
    3. Fewer classes then SWG, although more diversed and you can choose different skills from others of that class in a diablo 2-ish skill tree.
    4. No. Check out some screenshots, n00b (I'm just kidding, although it would've been the smartest thing to do before asking questions, check out the official site! www.worldofwarcraft.com) the graphics are great, some prefer EQ2's, some prefer WoW's. I like both, although WoW isn't as system intensive.

Hope you have fun in WoW, i'll be joining you lads in a few months!

check out the official world of warcraft site and you will have all your basic questions answered...

I played SWG and personally did not care for it because it did not give me enough to do.

I've been playin for a week now in WoW and I must say there are so many different things to do that I will be occupied for months before i even start to get bored of one simple task.

starting up the game is very easy... w/o reading a single instruction of how to contorl the game, i figured it out in about 5 mins. very easy to understand at start up. as for quests... there are more than enough to keep me going.. i'm constantly finding new quests and at the present i have 14 going on at once that I could complete if i took the time to... but i'm too busy fishing and mining and trainin my pet to complete them ... but its no hurry.... you can level up really fast... I got to level 5 in 3 hours, and a friend of mine got to level 10 in 3 hours... I tend to deviate from fighting to chat/forrage/waste time.

heres whatcha do.. find a store like EBgames or Gamestop that actually has a copy of it left... take some old junk games that you don't play for your consoles in and trade them for credit toward the game. you get 30 days free and need a credit card unless you purchase a game card which will let you start the game w/o a credit card.

The only problem I found with this game is it can be incredibly easy to max your level if you're a hardcore gamer. I play casually and right now i'm level 17, which is still a low level. But when your walking around town in the second week the game has been out with level 40's walking past you, it makes you wonder where this game will end up in 3 months.

Another problem I found is Blizzard must have been smoking crack when they made the PvP system. A night elf can litterally walk into a horde area on the PvP and just walk around normally. And if a horde attacks the Night Elf, no rewards are given.

I like SWG, I love the crafting system, and have a lot of fun with the skill system. That being said, WoW destroys SWG. There are tons of quests and things to do. Personally I like EQ2 better, as I feel WoW was made more for people who have never played MMO's before. There is a lot of hand holding in WoW and leveling is quick and easy. A lot of people like that (as the sales records prove) but it just isn't my cup of tea.

    P.S.
Rathma I LOVE your sig. I almost peed my pants lauging at that.

Yeah, if you're bored of SWG, then it's time to change.  SOE gave up on veteran players, they just keep adding more and more stuff and leaving the core of the game buggy and easy-to-play as always.

I mean both SWG and WoW have their pros and cons.

    SWG:
Pros: Great graphics, no loading time between zones, amazing character customization, tones of professions,  enough content to not make you bored for at least 3-4 months.
Cons: Buggy, unbalanced, too easy once you know the "Armor+Doc Buff+Brandy" trick, most professions can be mastered in 2-7 days (Except BH, CH, BE, SL, I might be missing 1-2 more), all POIs can be explored within 1-2 days, all theme parks can be done in 2-3 days, you can become a Master Pilot within 1 month and get bored of JTL expansion quick, etc...

    WoW:
Pros: Great cartoony style graphics you end up loving, no loading time in between zones, tones of skills and spells to learn for your chosen profession, easy to understand (Heck there isn't even a tutorial! That's how easy WoW is to understand), each race has their OWN WORLD that you can explore with your character and each race's world is MASSIVE, when you die there's no XP debt to pay but you will have to repair your weapons & armor cause they decay when you die but repairing is cheap, etc...
Cons: Lack of character customization... it's as bad as Lineage II but at least there's so many different kind of clothing and armor to wear (from the beginning) that your character will not look the same as another, WoW is where all the ex-Diablo 2 idiots hang out so just make sure you ignore them and be friends with the non-ex-Diablo 2-idiots, the "resting" system to give a chance to casual players is quite useless so in the end power-levelers still have an advantage to having no life and playing all day while casual players have work or school, you can't solo and always have to group but this sounds more like a Pros and not a Cons cause who plays MMORPGs to solo anyways?

Anyways that's just my opinion.  There's no problems with WoW where it's easy to solo.  Everyone groups and does quests together cause it's very very hard to solo quests after you reach Level 10.  Blizzard is known for making balanced games.  Just look at Diablo 2, Warcraft 2 & 3 and Starcraft.  They kept updating the game non-stop whenever someone discovered a new combo or strategy to own everyone.  They always maintained balance, and that's what's great about WoW... balance!

And well, if you think WoW is a kiddy game cause of the cartoony graphics... you gotta play it to believe it.  The game is beautiful.  Just the Night-Elve's forest will blow you away on the detail Blizzard has put into it.  Same goes for any other race's world... I'm in the Undead, and geez is the place dark, gothic with tombstones all over the place.  I love it.  Oh and the female characters in WoW have bouncy boobies... proof this isn't a kiddy game... boobies.... :)___ __  _    _         _
