The client is a 90k download.. then you download a few MB to get in the game when you start it up, and the rest streams in as you're playing, and zoning.
The game client takes less than 10 minutes to setup. After that getting into the game is painless for DSL and CABLE. Anything under will suffer but is barable.
The way it works:
1. YOU LOG IN just like a normal game. No servers to choose from just districts which you can easily move from one to another.
2. YOU FIND AN AREA
3. DOWNLOAD THE MAP (Painless very few of there maps are big)
4. PLAY IN THE MAP
5. GO BACK TO THE NORMAL AREA
the best thing about this is once you have downloaded the map you have it. So once you've downloaded it once you'll be fine. Even if they update the game its not going to take the long the next time to download it,
RabidEldar ---------------------------- God: "Bender, being God isn't easy. If you do too much, people get dependent on you. And if you do nothing, they lose hope. You have to use a light touch, like a safecracker or a pickpocket." Bender: "Or a guy who burns down a bar for the insurance money!" God: "Yes, if you make it look like an electrical thing. When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all."

However, I have seen dailup players and they take forever to get into the map the first time. I don't remember how long but it seemed to take like 10 minuites. Once downloaded I hear that the game plays flawless on dialup. A good video card and fast processor is good, but 256 or more ram is everything on this game. My friend has the same computer as my second computer, both older computers, except his has 128 ram and mine 256. His has a hard time running GW.
That's why I suggest all Dial up players...go into the map by themselves and then die if nothing more than to download the map.

Just thought I would say I more thing. When the game is released in February or March or April, and you install it from the cd, its not suppose to take up as much hard drive space. Streaming all the game data tends to make a game a whole lot bigger. It will be nice however, not to have anything streamed but updates. No map load times at all for broadband or dialup, all we have to download is streamed updates, which sould be painless.

Gotta love what they did.
This kind of approach just raises my admiration.
