     Do it. Really.

I hate WoW because it made my plush hamster kill himself, created twin clones of Hitler, punched Superboy Prime in reality, stared my dog down, spoiled my grandmother, assimilated me into the Borg, then made me into a real boy, just to make me a woman again.

theres a reason it got shut down. i see no reason a petition would achieve anything.

People had a chance to "sign the petition" by paying for a sub and they didn't.

    Why?

Because it was shut down prematurely.

We have lots of Medieval and Fantasy MMORPG but Sci Fi MMORPG are not very abundant.

There are other ways to mantain a MMORPG.

Look at DDO, they are going F2P with benefits for those who pay. Tabula Rasa could do the same now.

Surely people had the chance to pay for a sub, and many did, it was the company who decided to shut down, not the people, thats why the people wants the game servers back.

The game was released November 2007, that means the game wouldnt have 2 years if it was still online yet. Others MMORPG had worse subscription numbers.

Usually when a MMORPG is released it needs 6 months to 1 year to fix bugs, polish content and add minimal content, from there grows. Tabula Rasa didnt have that year since the shutdown was announced precisely 1 year after the launch.

I do not mean the game is awesome and is a WoW killer, what i mean is that there arent many good Sci Fi MMORPG out there and the game died prematurely, a second chance would be appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, the closure was not only because of the subs not being as good as NC hoped, but because they had some troubles with Garriot.

TR cost a lot to develop.  I think the reason they shut down the servers is because they have yet to recoup their losses and are continuing to lose with the low sub numbers and cost to keep the servers running.  Going free to play would do nothing.

Obviously going F2P wouldnt help. But there are other ways to make it, ingame advertising, item shop and others ideas currently implemented. The whole point is that the game was released 1 year and 1 month before announcing its death, they didnt gave the game time to draw new users after the fixing period or returning characters.

Do you imagine AoC announcing its death this same month (Went from more than 40+servers to less than 18 in 6 months)?

The main point is to tell NCsoft to look another way of doing things instead of shutting it down, after all its not a small company and has other free MMORPG.

its sad really Tabula Rasa did some really amazing things... The Mob AI was some of the best I have ever witnessed. The Base attacks were always alot of fun.. The story line was pretty decent.. The only thing I didnt like was your supposed to be the saviors of humanity part of a military force and yet you had to buy your own weapons... They should have made basic issue weapons.. Instead of making tier level based gear they should have had it all dependent on your characters skill with that gear... And have other more powerful weapons be unlocked for issue through skills and ranks or found as alien artifacts..That was my one big gripe about the game that really killed immersion for me..

Earth and Beyond is another Sci Fi game that I miss. Its like have you noticed... Fantasy games hardly ever shut down. Sci Fi games shut down all the dang time.

You are not being realistic.  All companies have a different view on what can and can't be saved.  To NCsoft, TR could not be saved and was not worth trying anything else.

Just think about it this way; you went to a party, drank too much alcohol and had no idea what was going on.  You slept with the ugliest girl there and got her pregnant.  Wala, you would be in nearly the same situation as NCsoft was with TR.

TR will come back as F2P (or a Hybrid of some sort). They are already looking at re-launching in Korea next year.

Look, its ok for me if you have your opinion, everyone does, but dont say im not being realistic and comparing the worst hangover night with the situation i explained because... well yea that makes your explanation completely realistic...

Those are great news. Do you remeber where did you read about it?

Yes, I am pretty interested myself on where you heard about that. Kinda suspsicious here, since the whole Garriot tebacle happened I take all such news with grains of salt the size of planet killer asteroids.

PS: Are you sure you aren't mistaking TR for Hellgate? It can be a pretty honest mistake, my friend.
