Hi,
do you know a game for/played by adults?
No I'm not looking for an other extreme violent or erotic MMO.
It doesn't have to be for 18+ or something, but I'm looking for game, where there are mostly mature players.
I hate those communities, where people are too childish and take they more serious than the real life. I also don't like it, when everyone uses l33tspeak and asks "h0w R u eY?!!"
It can be every kind of MMO and also every setting.
Oh: It can of course be erotic or violent, but in most cases there are more teens than in most other games I guess

Yeah.
Try WoW or EVE Online.
The only immature people there are the people who shout NOOB! and grief you for no reason, and whom also beg if hey need something.
eq2 on the us servers are a bunch of leftover garbage from eq1 that will turn to dust in the next few years if thats what your into
You may want to give LotRO a try. Very mature community which appears to be several years older than the typical MMO crowd.
Hedonismbot: Your latest performance was as delectable as dipping my bottom over and over into a bath of the silkiest oils and creams.
Did you seriously just say WoW is an adult MMO.....LOL
Anways, some of the more mature MMOs out there are Eve online, EQ2, and Vanguard Saga of Heroes, LotRO. So, if your an SOE hater, I don't know what to tell ya.
I can personally recommend EVE 100%. Because it's more complex and more of a thinking man's game, the kiddies tend to get bored, frustrated, confused, or they see something shiny and go chase it. Which makes for a pretty good community overall.
EVE or EQ2 hands down
I think you will find the most mature settings / game worlds in Age of Conan and Eve.
After these 2 you also have Everquest 2, Vanguard and lotro.
D&D Online has the most mature and generally intelligent playerbase out of all games I have played.
Ah yes, D&D is also one I forgot.
For a good gaming experiance as well as a great mature community defintly lotro is the best. Avoid WoW like the plague its the most kiddie ridden mmo out there.
DDO, EVE or LOTRO are my suggestions, DDO and LOTRO have too much lore for kids to enjoy, they want to start killing others asap or their epeen doesn't feel good.
EVE is a way too much complex game for kids to understand, and by complex I don't mean bad, EVE is great for its complexity.

Ya. WINZ.
Not that I play WoW anymore anyway, I got bored with it after hitting level 50.
I guess I'll play the games in their trials and choose one.
I've already tried Eve, but didn't play much, because I had not much time. It's a really nice game and IIRC it had a pretty big tutorial maybe that's the reason for the more mature community. I also heard good things about LotR online, but I'm not a big fan of LotR fantasy. And I have bigger problems with NC, than with SOE, so I'm not sure about I'll try their superhero game, but I heard only good stuff about it.
Tthis summer will be an MMO test summer.
You might want to take a different approach to your search and look for an adult-oriented guild.
Since the type of game is of low priority and the type of company is of high priority, a multi-gaming guild made mostly of adults will give you both a wider choice of game and a better chance of good xompany while you play.
The Old Timers Guild is a very large and active gaming guild, and it might be what you are looking for.
- RPG Quiz - can you get all 25 right?
- FPS Quiz - how well do you know your shooters?
QFT
If you have the right guild, even WOW can be a fairly nice experience. Another thing to note is if you turn off the general chat in a game, it usually makes all the craziness go away.
That said, I liked the atmosphere in LOTRO very much. EQ2 was also ok, but the lack of real PvP(whether battleground or in world) on the PvE servers kinda took the interest away.
As far as F2P, Runes of Magic is fun. Not sure it's what you are looking for, but it is a very well done game, and I only noticed a little off color banter per se in the months I've played it. Obviously nowhere is it going to be perfect.
Good luck !
That first post nearly killed me... WoW adult game... hah.... Why not play Runescape while your at it.
But ya I would also recommend EVE, EQ2, AoC at a Stretch as I would call it a teetering mature community.
Or Another suggestion try some Mudd's or something or Text based, Browser based... many of them cannot satisfy the desires of children.

In my experience, EQ2 has a largely mature, helpful, and welcoming community. Every game has it's fair share of leet-freaks, but EQ2 has the lowest number of these out of all the MMOs I have played. Also, EQ2 is a lot of fun, which definitely helps imo.
blawr
Try Requiem Bloodymare, is a cool gore mmorpg
I love Free MMORPG
the majority of Lineage II and Ragnarok Online Players are aged 21+
Age of Conan, but it contains ALLOT of violence and minor nudity but the community there is great,
or it depends on what server you are on.
I'm on a Pve server but I heard you get ganked on PvP servers.
but if u want a mature community and a break from the "point and click" games and willing to lose some weight of you wallet then you should try age of conan.
Everquest II
Lord Of The Ring Online
Age Of Conan
Vanguard
These are the four main games that are still with today in terms of graphics gameplay and userbase. All of them have a free trial so head on over and try them all out. Personally I would suggest Everquest II, it is probably one of the best (in my opinion) MMORPGs of all time.
EQ/EQII/WoW/SWG/AoC/WAR/EVE/RYZOM/AO/DAoC/Lineage/LineageII/VG/GW/LOTRO/COH/COV
I've played them all, I've reviewed them all.
How to play Eve.
1. Upgrade starter ship to tier 1 miner.
2. Mine until you can get enough coin to have the highest miner
3. Fly your ship around in empty space. Nothing really to look at .
It's such a huge world i rarely saw but a few people per zone in high sec zones. Though i agree it seemed fairly mature it was also boring as heck unless you consider the final frontiers fun.
