I hear that the skill system is even more simplified than WoW, so sorry I'm just not interested. I'm no longer playing “RPGs” that don't have good skill systems and you can't actually customize a character.
It's comparable to warhammer online, both are lacking when it comes to pve, both are somewhat derivative, and both think that their version of rvr is enough to carry the game.
The enviroments are about as good looking in both the games, the zones are as linear, and you have to use npc teleports to travel between most of them. Classes are a lot more varied and distinct in WAR, but the character models in Aion look a lot better. Which is a good thing, because the looks are about the only meaningful thing you can customize about your character in Aion, They have a thing called stigma, which is a bit like the tactics in warhammer, and that's it, there are no feats.
If you loved warhammer, but thought that it was all ruined by the scenarios, then Aion might be for you. But be aware that you'll have to do a lot more pve grinding before you can partake in any pvp whatsoever.
Bloody good so far IMHO, though I will prob be lamed forit.
There is a lot of Lineage 2 and GuidWars design in Aion. Since all three are published by NCSoft, my guess is that they are sharing design teams between the games. A couple of examples:
1. Orcs (L2) and Asmodian (Aion). The character skins look VERY similar. Right down to the sheen on their skin.
2. Backdrops. You know, those out-of-place mountains in GuildWars that look like a curtain instead of distant scenery. Well, they are back in Aion.

You know that there is a huge difference between HEARING and READING about the Aion right?
Take a look at the upcoming changes in the "skill system" ( they are calling them stigmas )

The stigma stuff is simple crap. Aion is even simpler then wow and thats pretty scary. Aion is just a pretty skin with wow features. To bad they didn't focus more on L3 right away.
I feel Fallen Earth has a higher chance of survival atm.
Well no matter how you say it , hear it , play it lol its a very simple GuildWarish MMO. It is fun though. Just .. get past level 10 and keep it up.. it gets better as you play.. ..its just simple and easy..

Did you read up what is in that link? Hence, yes Aion might look as WoW, with some new options and I like that. Yes, I am waiting L3 too, hope they are doing a good job
Saying that FE has a higher chance of survival then Aion, is like saying Perfect World will someday get more subs then WoW

I agree with most of this except about scenarios. I think most of the Warhammer refugees like myself will enjoy this game because of performance and poorly thought out end game in Warhammer. I haven't seen the end game yet in Aion so I can't pass any judgement there but it's hard for me to honestly say it could be worse than Warhammer's. To be it's just refreshing for a beta to have this much better performance and less noticeable bugs.

Yes...a better graphic'd less impressive WoW. Oh...better music also.

What the above 2 said, its .5 WoW with better graphics and you can fly! wee joy....
However, those that like PvP will surely enjoy it, as its a bit different and refreshing there!
If I had to compare it, I would compare it with Guild Wars or World of Warcraft.
It has very few "unique" features and seems to be targeting the "casual" crowd.

I've played them all, I've reviewed them all.

To WoW, bit less good.
WOW and L2 had sex and out popped AION, born with Mommy L2's looks and Daddy WOW's brains.
- RPG Quiz - can you get all 25 right?
- FPS Quiz - how well do you know your shooters?
It reminds me allot of GuildWars needs work in crafting and housing.
MAGA
Yea GuildWars most def...and i think the flying scenario is awesome. Much more "elevated" and controlled unlike, Flyff HAHA
This man is a pure genius, please Stockholm hand him over the Nobel prize for genetics!
Reminds me a lot of Lineage 2 / Guild Wars

I can see a similar look to the characters to Guild Wars but how else is it similar? I don't see it.
Im not exactly interested in the graphic that Aion has atm. AO is still more fun then any other mmo out there .
