So im debating wether to come back to LOTRO and start fresh again! 2 Years ago i level'd a captain to lvl 29 and quit for personal R/L reasons and im thinking of coming back as a Warden or a hunter, maybe even another captain.
Until then i would like to see if anybody has screenshots of the raid sets and information on where do they drop from or are they crafted.
Another question im going to pick up armorsmithing/Mining and was wondering what armor can wardens wear and Hunters and what smithing should it take up with either of them.
Thanks all! Im very interested in coming back.

I wouldn't bother....there technically isn't raid gear anymore as the sets from the Rift and Helegrod are old and worthless now compared to the new set gear from 6-man instances.
All crafting for Light, Medium and Heavy gear has been ruined because of the switch to WoWifiying the end game where you collect instance gear now. Well 1-50 stuff is still ok, but from 51-60 its worthless and only Farming & Scholar are good anymore. Even the weapon crafts are pointless now with the Legendary weapons, which you still can't craft...drop only and 1st Age is now on a token system from the new 12-man raids!
Oh and its all so very easy now...most of the books and quests used to demand you grouped and it was tough, not its almost all solo and very easy. Just a ton of traveling back and forth, making you run through tons of enemies for absolutely no reason then return again! Its like an endless fetch and delivery system now!

Why bother to answer when you know so little about how the game is now?

and WAR = Led Zeppelin

Here are some screens of my hunter and captain in full radiance gear.
this is all moria btw, these are the locations for the armor pieces:
Helm: The Vile Maw, Waterworks; 12 man raid ----- Nonset armor piece: Dark Delving, The Foundation of Stone; fellowship
Shoulders: The Vile Maw, Waterworks; 12 man raid ----- Nonset armor piece: 16th Hall, Nud-Melek; fellowship
Chest: The Forges, Flaming Deeps; fellowship
Leggings: Skumfil, The Foundation of Stone; fellowship
Gloves: Fil Gashan, Flaming Deeps; fellowship
Boots: The Grand Stairs, Redhorn Lodes; fellowship
I don't craft much so cant tell you much about which vocation to chose, I do have 3 more level 60's but they don't have their full set, so Im not posting them.
The best of luck if you decide to come back to the game, It can be tough to find a good kinship that has experience with the instances, but if you're a nice guy I'm sure you'll find one.
I quit playing a two month ago...suddenly all that has changed.......uh huh!
I keep tabs on the MMOs I plan to maybe return to someday....LOTRO is being changed drastically from a game that was much harder and more group oriented throughout the adventure; too a solo fest with end-game only grouping/raiding! Crafting used to be significant and all the gear from raids/crafting/PvP were all on par with each other allowing players with all interests to pick their path.
Now if you want the best stuff you have to grind instances or raids for tokens to get that gear. Same with weapons, as I said with the legendary stuff, there is no reason for weapon crafts of any kind to be in the game anymore post lvl 50!
Books are a joke now, and are entirely solo for damn near 98% of them, and yeah some of the earlier books are still kinda tough but nobody of that level range does them that way anymore{nobody wants too}...just call in your lvl 60 kinmates or a few bored players to destroy it for you quickly and effortlessly!
Quests in MoM were also a joke...most were very easy...besides the obvious ones you couldn't solo, and I did them all as a Minstrel no less. I have 4/6 pieces of my radiance set, don't care about the Watcher cause I don't enjoy raiding for gear, and the new Tier what 1.5 they're calling it gear is only from the new 12-man raid.
Go read the update notes on all this, if you claim to think I'm lying about it and not being honest......I'm being truthful about the state of the game, and thus far most of you whom have answered its like you're blinded and saying I'm lying about it...heh

So the game is all solo but to group oriented now? Makes perfect sense! Yes in SoA they added more types of gear with the book updates (pvp gear came in book 12 btw) just like they are doing in MoM. lvl 60 crafted gear compared to raid gear is simillar to crafted lvl 50 gear compared to Rift set.

Yes crafting is not as strong as it was in SoA just like I said in my post! Shouldnt you be happy that solo-grinding cant give you the best gear now? Also crafing is getting updated in book 8 and they have said the crafting will be made more important in the LI system. And some classes still use crafted weapons. If you dont raid then crafted stuff is more than good enough.

Yes lots of solo quest with some fellowship instances (b5c5 being probably the hardes one ever), perfect design for the epic quests imo. Book 8 will focus on small fellowship quests btw.

So leveling in Moria is easier than it was 1-50??
Tier 1.5 is from the new 3- and 6-man instances. Tier 2 gear is from DN.
You dont enjoy rading but you complain that you cant raid if you dont have cetain gear? Makes perfect sense! You dont like solo, you dont like group and you dont want to raid... running out of options now

I dont think you are being disshonest or are lying. i just think you are wrong
I know you didnt like book 7 and I didnt care much for it either since it was mostly solo content, but some people want more solo and now we get more group/raid content in this book.

Even though a lil flame war started up from me posting the new thread i really appreciate all the feedback from you guys if some is neg and positive, id like to hear both sides of it really so keep it coming.
What does get me though.. is the crafting comments now i played for a couple months in LOTRO and now hearing the end-game being WoW-a-fied gets me down. My Captain was always.. ALWAYS wearing crafted purple gear. Thats what i liked and now hearing the end-game is turning into a token/raid/raid/raid system worries me. I really liked that if i had a close crafting buddy he would look out for me as long as i supplied the ore i was mining.
And i REALLY hate bringing WoW up but its the most played game and its the easiest game to relate too in terms of things i dont like. (I come from DAoC originally). So when i compare it to WoW please dont assume im one of those guys. Its like comparing something to Mcdonalds instead of maybe a 5-Star resturaunt so alot of people know what im talking about.
The token system idea is kinda blah! I do hear something about 3-man instances? And i really am diggin the warden in terms of skill it takes to play because of all the gambits. But i actually read into the Runie which seems midly interesting also being im mostly a healer in most games.
But! I'll still try it, ill go to end-game and raid. Im not really hear for the PvM, im mostly here for the PvE. The raid sets do look amazing though thanks for posting them, unlike some games were you look like a christmas tree and everything is skinned over.
Ok guys, i just recently rolled a Runekeeper which is amazing i might say and it def fits my play-style very well.
Nukes and healing and its mechanic is pretty cool and it reminds me alot of the Archmage/Shaman mechanic in WAR.
Anyways, im looking up a good crafting trade i could get into that would compliment me well, id like to really craft my own armor and such.
Thanks al!

Enjoy.
I usually dont like caster classes but I enjoy my RK alot, its a very versatile class!
A good craft would probably be a vocation with Tailor in it, explorer is always a good vocation for your first character. Or maybe pick one with Jewelry since that stuff is always in demand even at "end-game".

The RK is a kitting god! Just don't get cought! (Rooted, stuned ETC..lol)
