Assasins Overpowered?

in Everquest II

Anyone else think that Assasins are overpowered? I was looking at the top 100 melee hits and I saw all top 100 hits were from Assasins. What makes me mad is that Qeynos players cannot be an assasin, I really want to play one too. My guild is in Qeynos so I cant play in Freeport. I dont like that Qeynos seems to be more of a defensive type classes. What class in Qeynos does the most damage?

    I don't see that in PvE game such a big deal...

    and Assasins, while hits for a lot...are complete glass cannons...

    the reason they do the most damage is because of the sneak, backstab type skills. its basically a one time deal, and they couldnt tank to save thier life (literally).

    Yeah I know about that as I am one. We get some hard hits from behind but after that we hit rather weak. We would be nothing without a tank. The class is good in a group but certainly not alone.

    Rangers might out damage assasins.. :O They have same type of skills as assasins do, but use bows for em and dont need to hit back. longer regens.. but hey..my level 11 can hit for 30's with a crappy quest bow+tin arrows...

    The biggest hit does not necessarily translate to the highest DPS.

    Well which Qeynos class does the most dps? I would think berserker but I dunno. Ive never like bows, so I wouldnt play one.

    Azzins can't take but 2 or 3 hits without dying so their massive damage is pretty fair.

    I think you are right here.  I was talking to someone and they were telling me that as a Ranger around level 23-24, they can deal out roughly 1000-1500 points of damage over a chain of 3-4 moves.  Something about the fact they can be at a certain distance from the mob and be able to switch between ranged and melee and still be able to hit the mob with both. 


    Fact: In the United States, 4% of all children are born with a heart defect.
    Fact: Only 1% of those has Ebstein's Anomaly.
    Fact: My daughter is in that 1%.

    Wow thats pretty cool. In EQL rangers where the easiest class, I hope its not that way in EQ2. I might try one, I have 11 days to decide lol.

    Huh? What game are you playing?  I have a friend who just made level 21 Fury, he has Smite with Apprentice II.  He hits for like 35-50 with each cast.  If my math is correct, 4-5 casts of that would be 140-200 points of damage.  My statement was there's a series of Ranger moves (4-5 of them) which dishes out 1,000-1,500 point of damage when its complete.

    I started out a Dark Elf character as a scout->assasin. I played as a fighter in Beta with a dark elf, but was too weak. My question is...how is the assasin class? So far it seems ok, but nothing that great. I enjoyed my weakling beta fighter much more then this scout.
