Hi, I would like to begin off by saying that I currently play World of Warcraft and I thoroughly enjoy the game and find it to be very fun, but in no way am I a 'fanboy', nor am I trying to troll, flame, or any of that sort.
With that cleared out of the way, I'd like to say that I really want to give Everquest 2 a try, but I'm not willing to shell out $50 just so I can try a game. I was accepted into the closed beta but only played for a few hours before I ultimately decided that the game was boring, but now I am regretting that decision because I didn't give the game enough time to sink into my system (it didn't help that I was swamped with real life matters then). I do remember that I did enjoy playing the game at the very beginning and only started to get tired of playing it when I continually kept dying. I've been reading almost every single review I can find on it and I visited a lot of fansites and viewed the forums to get people's opinions on the game, but ultimately I heard a smogsgoria of good and bad about the game.
What I propose is this: I am willing to pay money (sent via Paypal or mail in cash form) in order to give this game a try. I tried to download it online but couldn't find any sources that would complete before 2006. I am willing to pay someone a to-be-decided amount for a copy of the game and a working buddy key. If you are interested, please let me know through PM or reply in this thread.
An alternative would be to allow me access to your account, like if you've stopped playing the game but still have some time left for your current month. In no way do I wish to 'steal' your account or buy it from you, I merely want to try out the game without having to pay the $50 to do so.

dude, this game costs 39 at amazon + shipping is free. u got one month free to play. so what is the big
deal ?
and honestly i doubt somebody let you just a have look on his own account, even if u are a honest boy !
Money is tight and I'm used to downloading MMORPGs and just paying the monthly fee, not buying the box and doing the 'free trial' thing. In all honesty, I wouldn't have even looked in this game's way if I didn't try it in the beta. The only MMORPGs I've actually bought without playing it in a free trial beforehand was Final Fantasy XI and World of Warcraft. Other than that, I never touched Ultima Online, Everquest, Dark Ages of Camelot (before they offered the downloadable free trial), Horizons (again, before the download), etc... simply because they didn't offer a free trial version.
I suppose the account idea was a bit far-fetched since it would give me access to their credit card info (I think), but I'm kinda desperate here .
btw i was in the wow us final beta, and only can say its an amazing game. lots of fun etc. but still waiting for the german release i also bought eq2. i was in the closed beta and its also fun to play. actually i am one of the few i pay + play both guys (well the monthly fee will only paid for one, depends on what mood i am )
I'm one of those people who only want to create one character and play one game at a time. I really don't understand why people would want to create more than 2 characters (people complaining that EQ2 only has 4 char slots, sheesh how many do you need???) but I guess they have their own reasons.
Right now I'm playing World of Warcraft (along with Warcraft 3 to fill me in on the storyline) and it's the only game I play. I'm neglecting my PS2, my PS1 (with tons of RPGs I have yet to beat), and some other online games I play (Red Orchestra, Half-Life 2, etc...). The game isn't boring for me at all, far from it, I find myself even DREAMING about it (yes, scary), but the temptation of Everquest 2 is too strong, if anything I just want to give it a try before ultimately locking myself in for the next several months. I don't want to play WoW for a coupla months, pick up EQ2 and be like "Wow I can't believe I missed all this!".
i doubt u will miss somethin elementery in one of those games, compared to each other. its more a state of mind. eq2 seems to go a bit more into depth regarding quests, crafting and long term playing, even tho player customizing is a bit missing. wow is more for short time players who arent 24/7 online, u have pvp, u do find those guys who gave u a quest (god i am missing that in eq2) and everything is somemore acrade i my eyes. but still absolutly a great game.
anyway, i hope u will find a trial period somehow
