If it is done like COH/COV that should satisfy all.  You have to go out of your way to PVP where PVPers can hang out all day, do missions enter arean battles, etc. and Villians and Heroes are sepearate in other areas otherwise except some spots where no combat allowed.    The only people who would complain about that would be PVPers who want to greif non pvpers.

This post is intentionally written as to not make any sense what so ever. Thank You Very Much.

Which just goes to show that you can't please everybody all of the time. Those two points have just increased my interest. I hated PvP in CoX with a passion and went out of my way to avoid it.

Regarding playing villians, I had a few villians in CoV. Hardly played them. I started playing CoH nearly 5 years ago to be a hero, not a villian.

I liked the villains but there just wasn't a whole lot of content. I think Cryptic (then) and NCSoft (now) just doesn't focus very much on the red side. I wish they'd focus on adding more new zones (co-op ones so that both sides can play together).

I think Cryptic is making another mistake but not having villains in CO at launch. However, it's one I understand... they would probably need another year to get it to work right (deciding which powersets were unique to which side, creating news ones, adding several new villain-only zones, adding several new villain-only crisis zones, adding several pvp zones, etc.).

I, for one, hope Cryptic doesn't spend the resources on villains for CO.  Honestly, from what I've read, I don't think Champs is going to be my type of game. It sounds like a click-fest with very little strategy involved... more of an arcade-flavored game.  I would much rather have Cryptic rush out CO as is and then focus all resources on Star Trek Online. Sure, CO would flounder but I think there's a good chance of that happening anways so I would prefer they re-task now.  ;)

That is false information. They have said they would like to visit villain possibilities in the future on their own forums. They'll probably come in an expansion just like CoX did. Most likely around the time that they release the Anti-Hero stuff.

When a MMO trys to focus on PvE and PvP at the same time it usually ends up sucking.  The exception may be WoW but even then classes are nerfed all the time because of PvP which pisses PvE players off.  I think this game would be better off just focusing on PvE AT LEAST until it's time for an expansion.  I personally wouldn't care if they ever did PvP except maybe an arena just for fun.

The thing is game companys only have so many resources and so much money to spend.  If you spend too much time focusing on PvP content you alienate the PvE players and vice versa.

I'm not a fan of pvp, and not good at pvp (prolly why I'm not a fan ) and I'm the first to admit that games without pvp tend to have a much more enjoyable playerbase,  but a game with out some kind of opposing player dynamic feels a little too light weight for my taste.

I don't think not having villains in place at launch is a bad idea.  On the contrary, they have villains at launch that you create, you customize, and you name.  You are basically creating a Hero AND a Villain when you play CO... so really the opposing mechanic is already there.  They've added a great deal of PvP elements in the game as well --- no this won't be RvR gameplay --- but I would look more towards a Guild Wars arena style play... and some level based designs not much different then WoW and WARs scenarios.

As for the power sets.. I don't see them changing power sets for heros and villains... there really isn't a need to, your powersets are set for both your hero and your nemesis... so when they add new powersets you won't have to choose which side to be to use the new powersets... and in this same avenue this is a form of balance of gameplay because you pick and choose your powersets...  so no single "class" will be stronger or weaker then another... its all on how you create your character.

I also think this game will be much less of a "click fest" then some others in the genre.  They limit your powers so you won't have a billion hotbars on top of hotbars to keep track of all your powers.  They also created this game with the idea of using the 360 controller, which is supported on the PC as well.   I haven't played the game yet, so really this is just going on what I've seen and read through following the game..

Simple...they don't ever plan to add one.

They will add it later, just like City of Villains. Mark my words.

There are several things that will be different with City of Villains and Champions (Villains).  City of Villains was never planned for when City of Heroes was made.  The creators thought you shouldn't play a villain only heroes.  They had said several times "NO they are not making City of Villains"  They finally gave in.  City of Villains was a success in Many ways.

Fast forward to champions.  They have already said they will have villains as playable characters but not at the start.  They have a plan which they will use (probable modify) after Champions is realased.

So far DCU has Villains as playable characters.  It will probable be more like WAR split areas with areas of fighting overlapping.  Thats the only good thing so far about DCU that Champions does not have.
