My bigger worry now is how long will my new laptop stay relevent as far as gaming is concerned.  MMOs, once released, change very little so I should be ok there, but outside MMOs I might have to replace the laptop with a new machine in probably two or three years.  Unlike a desktop where I could update every four years or so, as long as I could keep up with updating component like RAM, CPU, etc...

if $1500 is your target price
sager np8662. look no further than that, unless you really want a bigger or smaller screen(this one is 15.4")

the price starts at $1350, upgrade the cpu if you want(base is core2 2.53), and put in 4gb of ddr3 and still not over $1500

it will crush any game out now, its upgradable, and will run games for years to come, and easily more powerful than most of the desktops browsing this forum.

i know in fact it would tear my desktop a new ahole but..then again i been putting off upgrading my desktop until a game comes along and makes me, which one hasn't yet.

    people alwasy say this... *sigh*

    (but its not true)

the truth is, you get a better computer for the money as a desktop. everyone knows that. but he didn't ask for a desktop, he asked for a gaming LAPTOP. and there are VERY good gaming laptops out there, and prices are getting better and better all the time.

I'm sorry, what was your point..?  To let him think that $700 will buy him a gaming laptop..?

just like every thread that someone asks about gaming laptop, some know-nothing tool comes in saying 'LAPTOPS ARE NOT FOR GAMING DERHERHER, BUY A DESKTOP AND CARRY IT AROUND IN UR BACKPACK'

since you asked, my point was that YOU are that know-nothing tool in this particular thread. grats.

and back to the point, every laptop in my post above, including the sub-$1000 ones are gaming laptops and can run any game out there very well. its not my immagination, its facts. why does that upset you? i think you spent too much cash on a crappy one instead of doing your research.
