As I see Entropia Universe can be useful for generating some income ... And that makes this game very popular
are there any other games where you can generate real cash income?
and is this [money generation opportunity] a sufficient motivation for many players?
I played Entropia Universe a couple years back and having abit of income coming through for your efforts in your profession (mine was hunting) was a nice motivator to keep me in the game.
But it is very demanding and requires alot of time and personally money to be spent in the game in order to gain a profit in the end.
The players who actually gain alot of profit have spent honestly thousands of $$ to get their profession up, what most of it is land. They buy land and when people hunt they have to pay tax's. Other things are renting a space on the land for a shop/home etc. All this goes towards the owner of the land and he makes the money back.
All in all i enjoyed it but i didnt have enough time and money to constantly spend on the game to gain enough profit to make it worthwhile. When you know EU like the back of your hand, know what sells, how to get things easier and know it like your real life, then you can get somewhere.
I might give it another go after the new graphics update comes aboard (using the cry engine).
Other motivation in EU is that the game itself is just fun overall. Alot of fun things to do and see, items and skills to level. But like i said, to get the best out of the game, even if its just the fun factor you want, you have to put in maybe 20 or so $ first off, and this will allow you to buy the basic guns/ammo, and armour. This will allow you to hunt and if your lucky, get nice loot that you can sell and gain abit of money on the side. But starting out is hard due to you have to level up your skills to get better.
If you are looking for a business simulator in an economy that is player controlled, you will like Eve. Do not be fooled by all the space ships...you can play the game from a business perspective and never even undock from a station.
Once you get bored with that, you can go into production or research. Eve is pretty much the ultimate PvP MMO; the PvP is not just between spaceships.
If you are looking for something a little more conventional, Cities XL will probably come the closest.
just go in second life and do what every you want, build a hut and stuff to put in it to sell and then hire in game people so you can manage them your game is made by making it your self there?
I've played Second Life. As a business simulator, it sucks.
It's good if you are a loopy artist, or a teenager, or a pervert who likes to pretend you're a cartoon animal. If you dont fit one of those catagories, Second Life will probably get old fast.
It has the most complex customizable environment I have ever seen in a game. But it isnt really a game (there is no competitive element) and it has an item mall (the more complex stuff you want to build, the more you have to pay them every month...and it can get pricey quick).
Oh yeah...and they dont like letting go of your account. After I quit the game, they continued to charge my account. After several weeks of ignored e-mails (or auto-pilot Form Letters), I had to get the Better Business Bureau involved before they would finally stop charging me. They did remove all of the previous months charges where I didnt log in, but only after many threats.
I heard some very good arguments for very different positions that really helped me to prioritize the games from the my "business" requirements and additional fun:
Hello all, I am new here and pardon me if I opened this topic in a not appropriate section of the wonderful site. I am new to mmorpgs in general. I got enough information from the internet to understand that there are lots of mmorpg games that I can play, but could not decide which to start. I am interested in business related game. I would prefer to play a strategic business role play game where there may be business companies, competitions, business wars etc ... BUT I could not find any of the MMORPGs with that content. Are there any business MMORPGs at all?
Wouldn't this be called "work"?
Many of us do this on a daily basis, just as an FYI....
Nope, actually there's no other MMO I've played so far that has anything like the economy of EvE Online.
And I've played my fair shar of MMOs during the last 10 years.
PotBS. It's been a while but they had a great crafting/trading system. Perhaps it was more on the crafting side I don't really remember. But that is probable your next best bet.
The OPs best bet would be to google for "business simulation game".

Played PoTBS at launch and though it had one of the worst crafting systems in any game i had played
Play an MMORTS game, they're not really business but can involve a good amount of strategy and often put you in charge of building out a civilization where you will be managing resourcers, buildings, army etc.

I see many EVE fans here ... and that is clear
You just found one more.

1. Entropia Universe
2. Eve Online
3. WoW
Any suggestions?
iirc X3:reunion while not being an MMO had a very large trade system incorperated into it.

EVE has the best economic PvP going right now.
There is one, it's called real life in the big City. It's a bit scary at first, but you soon get the hang of it.

Has anyone played Imperia Online?
How would you evaluate it?
If you are looking for the best business game, the look at Simunomics.com. I am pretty sure that it is what you are looking for.
If I played a business MMORPG, I would try to make an F2P, P2W MMORPG inside of the business MMORPG .
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
In due time I'm sure everything will be represented in MMO form. IS that a good thing? IMO no...

If you dont mind a Theamed game http://farmersi.net/ might be close to what your looking for . If not , i have no other ideas
