hmmm....I chose cleric, but might lean towards chanter since it seem like it might be the underdog. Though I'd suspect that the chanter gets owned in PvP?
Well i will tell you what i wont play is a Gladiator, Assassin, or Sorceror. All the other classes look very cool to play but have narrowed down my choices to either be a Templar, Spiritmaster, or a priest class, cleric/chanter not sure just yet.
"you know that whole 'we come in peace business.' Bite me!"
I have played assasin in the events, because a invisible rogue with critics are really fun on all games, but I want to really test other class. Maybe a spiritmaster, maybe a cleric or changer, maybe a gladiator, since is fun to swing big stuff :-)
Your consistent vitriol and opposition to this game is puzzling (and yes, I know you play it and you "like" it, but you are consistently berating those who are excited about it and you frequently call it, and its gamers, "cookie cutter".
If people are excited about something, regardless of whether or not you are, why can't you just let them be? I know when people are going nuts about the latest blockbuster shoot-'em-up, I could care less. But, do I take the time out of my day to mock them, condescend to them, and present their devotion and excitement as a joke? Hardly... I do what most ADULTS do and just move along, 'cause FOR ME (a person who has decided against that movie, or in your case, a game), I walk away from things I'm not interested in and ignore them.
If others go ga-ga over it, why should I care? It's cool they have found something they enjoy. Why rain on somebody's parade? You say people are freaking out like they just got the latest my little pony, but you remind me of the kid who didn't get ANYTHING and just cuts-down others because if you can't have fun, why should anybody else?
So far I have played an assasin, a cleric and a Templar. I want to try one of the mage classes, but if I had to chose now I would go Cleric. I just found them to be fun.
I will be going Elyos all the way though. I don't like how the asmoians run. They have a broken back. LOL
Cleric and Templar still have a wide lead, while my beloved Ranger is dead last :P
Eh, cheaper prices and more selection for our gear in the auction house.
False. The more players that play a class, the higher the prices of their gear and the greater the scarcity of gear if you keep up with the main wave of players. If you are slightly behind however, you're right there will be no end to the cast-offs of other players

sorta true. In lineage2 this was true, if you were behind the majority you could always get great deals buying from a then oversaturated market, but in this game, they have soulbinding. this changes things a large amount.
but back on topic. I said I was leaning chanter, I have on in OB and love it. however I checked out the aion wiki and my god the cleric skills look SOOOO much better. sure, looks like clerics will have way more mana problems, but aion seems to have that mostly fixed already, so I may have to roll both.... gah!
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
I really want to play a ranger because they sound like the could be the most difficult to play but also have a lot of disruptive abilities like: stuns, snare, silence, and drain MP. Other one I'll play is the sorcerer... I love their bust damage!
Definitely an Assassin. Asmodian side fersho. Can't beat glowing red eyes and black wings, although I will probably try an Elyos at some point just because. Maybe a tank or magic user.

Def going to play a Gladiator or Sorc or maybe even Spiritmaster. I like pets but i like dps as well.
Cleric is my first choice, for sure. Templar is a close second.

I was thinking of going for a chanter, the class description appeals to me. But since I have yet to try the game I can't say for sure really.
Slacker extraordinaire!

[Mod Edit]
[Mod Edit] I will play a magic user of some kind most likely.

It is from carrying all the loot taken from our Elyos victims!
;p
Btw, cleric so far seems the funnest to me.
Cheers!
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
Chanter all the way.

- RPG Quiz - can you get all 25 right?
- FPS Quiz - how well do you know your shooters?

Boosting. Want an idea of what classes are going to be overplayed. SUPPORT!

Templar
Chanter
Assassin
Mage
Ranger
I've never played a healer class before, so I thought I'd try that out this game.
