Quick Question Regarding Preorder

I noticed the game can be preordered online via ebgames and other stores.  It seems that if I order I am allowed to participate in a beta of sorts.  So if I preorder today will I be able to play the game today?  I assume it is a beta and my character will be deleted when the game nears official launch.  Am I correct in my assumptions?  Thanks so much.

    You'll be able to play at the next scheduled closed beta event (july 2 - 6) and every event afterwards.. and have access to the Beta forums for feedback.
