The last MMORPG I played where I went "Wow! This is fun!" was in Warhammer Online back when the game first came out, there was a lot of RvR (pvp) going on in the open world rvr areas of Tier 1.
There were dozens of players on each side and me and a few buddies went into the fray.
There was a lot of turtling going on, both sides sitting around looking at each other with ranged classes moving in and picking at some people, then backing out to be healed, that kind of thing.
Me (black orc) and a friend (chosen) decided we'd had enough of that and used our emotes to signal a charge, used our shield wall ability which protects everyone behind you in a cone, and we charged the enemy formation...
And suprisingly, everyone followed! We got heals, the ranged moved in, all the melee exploded forward and just like that a skirmish had irrupted into an all out brawl, we pushed the Order back to the capture points and claimed them for our army, fighting off wave after wave on Order reinforcements and counter-attacks.
Once Order had given up the assault and things calmed down, I literally gave a long exhaling sigh saying to myself "wow, I haven't had this much fun in PvP since UO."
Pirates of the Burning sea, took the free trail dident expect mush but it has hold my interest for over a month now.
Before that Tortage during closed beta of AOC, the voice overs and the animations and the combat was awsome, to bad they left to many bugs in the game to make it playabal at launch
Playing my Dwarf In WoW felt fresh and new the first few weeks after the game came out
EvE.. my true mistress, nothing beats IT
Linage2, I reely liked this game when it came out, one of the first MMOs that I got hooked on.
Suprisingly my last 'Wow this is fun' moment was probably the first large open world battle I took place in on WAR shame that the general problems of that game eventually ruined that, but hell it was fun while it lasted.
I think it was DDO: Stormreach, the question is; why?
I loved the fighting system, the dualclass system, pretty much everything from combat to quests. It really was a fun game to play with couple of mates... prolly gonna play it again when it comes f2p :>
AoC was the last one for me. I was actually getting into the game and would still be playing it if Funcom hadn't of screwedd up so much of it...like taking away our mounts abilities and nerfing so much and not fixing certain things - gave up on it.
Now I am playing EvE and having some fun again. Not quite as much fun as I had playing saying Planetside, but I can see myself playing EvE for a couple of years or more. If they add Ambulation I'll be hooked for a very long time.
I've had a few WoW moments. UO was the first online game I played so everything was amazing. DAoC the landscape and the first time seeing a keep was wow. The lastly the last time I attempted to raid on WoW I was like wow this is not the kind of people I want to be seen with even online.
While I have enjoyed a number of MMO's over the years such as COH, Planetside, WAR and SWG-preCU (sigh). Nothing can match the magic of my first MMO, DAoC. Not because DAoC was such a great game (it was till ToA), but it was that first step into the wild world of MMORPGs and the unknown adventure it promised.
Now I don't think any game will ever recreate that feeling, because that new car smell is gone. Maybe that's why so many people feel like they are just doing the same old thing with every new MMO, that feeling of unknown adventure is gone.
Shadowbane beta for me. I left soon after release, but the beta was pretty epic. When the herald on the main site was taking our sieges and battles and making story's out of it. Really added a lot of role play value, and really gave you the feeling that you were effecting the world, it was like we were the story, something I haven't seen from MMO's before or after it.
last game i played where i went "wow this is fun" would be EVE online. Fortunetly i was able to get passed that ridiculous learning curve and enjoy it for what it is.
Playing: EVE Online Favorite MMOs: WoW, SWG Pre-cu, Lineage 2, UO, EQ, EVE online Looking forward to: Archeage, Kingdom Under Fire 2 KUF2's Official Website - http://www.kufii.com/ENG/ -
EQ1. Because we really didn't know any better back then lol. But it was the first MMO, so there was something really cool about it. And it was fun making a gnome warrior and seeing people gather around to cheer for the underdog as you struggled to win against something a real warrior could just beat up in passing. And not heal you or help you either unless you asked for help - respecting your fight was a part of the game. You don't see that happen anymore.
Planetside. The game that got the biggest "WOW" out of me, ever. After figuring out the controls, I hit "instant action" and spawned at a tower outside a base under attack. I ran out of the tower and was on an open field in the middle of like 50 other people, all charging for the base. And the turrets were shooting and the defenders on the walls were shooting and throwing grenades and the defending aircraft were making runs on us with rockets blowing up in our midst and we were running and shooting back with tanks rolling up and shooting and it was a helluva first fight.
Right until a Reaver pilot swooped down, hit his afterburners and RAMMED me for about a 50-foot slide and an instakill, leaving me looking down at my corpse. After the adrenaline of the Normandy beach-like run towards the base, I was like "HOLY SH*". Then I was like HOLY SH8 THAT WAS AWESOME!!!1!!!11!! Let's do that some more!!
Planetside has to have been the most fun I ever had in an MMO.

Very briefly WAR, but it faded quickly. I would say FFXI, for it s challenge which I enjoyed.

I've had a number of good MMORPG experiences.
NWN (AOL) - Just an all around good game and community.
AC - The Olthoi Horde Nest still makes me shiver.
SWG - Going out of my way to travel to well known crafters' shops.
DaoC - Great RvR ... nothing quite compares.
WoW - Raiding is a lot of fun with a good group of people.
Suprisingly my last 'Wow this is fun' moment was probably the first large open world battle I took place in on WAR shame that the general problems of that game eventually ruined that, but hell it was fun while it lasted.
For me it was probably Atlantica aswell but now that i started playing wow im pretty sure its gonna be the next thing for me.
very much truth to be told.

SWG
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
Vanguard.
Not my first at all.
I tried EQ2, AoC, LOTRO - My reaction to all three was "wow, this is really nothing new or interesting at all. How boring".
AoC was the last one for me. I was actually getting into the game and would still be playing it if Funcom hadn't of screwedd up so much of it...like taking away our mounts abilities and nerfing so much and not fixing certain things - gave up on it.

RIP créature handler- surrounded by 2 rancors ... that was a big WOOOOOOWWWWWW !!!!!!, this and riding for the first time to Jabba's palace
Anarchy online. ( back in the days we gathered at friends home to play with our laptops )
Neocron 2- ( first week was absolute blast, a pure dark sci fi universe, then the flaws of the gamedesign and buggs drawned me)
Aoc ( still playing - music, graphics, some quest storys are pure gems )

The latest:
Darkfall and AION.
Well... AION was more a "Whoooooaaaaa..." with the travel system.
Overall:
for me it would be LOTRO. But SWG is also very fun. As a casual gamer i havent really tried all the games but those would be my two.
