Community sucks.

in World of Warcraft

Gameplay/graphics - 10/10.
Community - 2/10

Every group I'm in, except if it is a guild-only group, has at least one jerk in it. One jerk who wants to skin every mob instead of taking turns. One jerk who rolls on stuff he doesn't need, when everyone agreed to only roll for what they needed. One jerk that goes afk without telling anyone and most of the party ends up dying as a result. One jerk who gets what they need then ditches the party and now the party can't finish the quest without him.

And it doesn't end there. If someone asks a question in general it is usually followed up by "n00b" or something else. Through 33 levels, I have 18 people on my ignore list, and they usually have to really piss me off to be ignored. In my past 4 MMORPGs I have only had to ignore 1 person.

Whenever I'm in ogrimmar I see "STOP BIDDING ON THE <insert item here> DOUCHEBAGS, I HAVE HUNDREDS OF GOLD, I'LL BE HERE ALL NIGHT!" or:

Player A: Selling Sword.. pst.
Player A: Selling: sword.. PST
Player A: SELLING: Sword.. PST
Player A: SELLING: SWORD PST!!
Player B: nobody wants your damn sword
Player A: shut up
Player B: i'm putting you on my ignore list, *sshole
Player A: and i'm reporting you, have fun playing something besides WoW for 3 days!

I will continue to play this game, of course, since it has the greatest gameplay of any MMO ever IMO, but I'll be soloing 95% of the time, which is a big disappointed.

    what do you expect? most of the players who played Wow are under 18 yrs old. Immature community.

    You are right. If you want to see the most brutal of them all go look at the PvP forum. Bunch of jerks there

    Well that's proof that WoW is just too damn big.

    There are people like that in all MMORPGs, except WoW has more because everyone is playing WoW.

    All I can suggest is kick @sses like them out of your group, ignore them, never talk to them again, warn your guild to never help or talk to that person and he will most likely become a loner since no one likes him.

    As you keep doing this, you end up sorting out the bad people from the good people, add all good people to your friend list, make friends, group with them and them only, and you will have the time of your life.

    I've finally established myself a good list of 6 people, 2 of them I've become good friends with, and we always group grind or group quest together from now on.  It's not like I need to become friends with everyone in the whole world, I just need a couple.

    I'm just saying this cause WoW is such an amazing game, the only "bad" thing people can say about it is that the community sucks.  So try to find ways around that one and single negative thing about WoW and it becomes the best MMORPG anyone can play.

    It's not like WoW is a MMORPG with a bad community, unbalanced combat system, bugs everywhere, broken quests and lack of content like some MMORPGs I know. image

    Community is the reason I decided not to get WoW. I've already heard enough stories to show that in my mind I made the right decisison.

    Maybe it will get better after the free month is over?
    We will see, personally this will not be something that will scare maway from the game.

    ok here is somthing that helped me when you dont feel like talking to them just turn of that chat channel but i havent really found that many people like that on my server or maybe its just a orc thing... lol just my thoughts =)

    That is just plain silly. Hearing "stories" and labeling the community before buying the game. Nowadays there are far more community and grouping complaints on EQ2 forums than WoW ones. What does that go to prove? In my time in the betas I never had a problem with the community, and if I would have typing /ignore leethax would not have been beyond my typing skills. There are bad apples in every community, but it's quite easy to ignore them as well.

    You did hear about blizzard banning ebayers, botters and attempting to rule out external UIs with their own UI customizer? That's candy to the community.

    how the fuck can you dismiss the whole community, maybe you suck... generally people are nice and keep too themselves cuz they're busy- like in the realworld

    another thing, the community dosnt suck...theres plenty of fansites with good folks

    theres cosmos- which fuckin rocks, if you dont know about it, yur sleepin...

    and show me an example of a "good" community.....
