yeah they wont let you buy the us version cuz if i get a ping of around 50 in europe i might be getting a ping of around 400 on us server .and to seargent frog or whatever his name is .i have asked most people in asia and they say there is no free cd key for warhammer in asia .and people pay for it just like they do in europe or america. there are around 100k people playing this game in asia. for wow taiwan i myself signed up for the trial version and you cant play the trial if you havent top up my card of 150 points or the other way you should have a cd key .so except aion there is no game that is giving the trial free in asia . so your assumptions are mostly wrong .and i can understand you are a little far from asia thats why you have limited resources .but thanks for pin pointing it out!!!

Only thing I can say on this topic is.  If you can't afford it don't play it, don't blame the fact that you pay money for stuff in capitalism.  On the other hand, maybe all the free stuff you pirated off the net have spoiled you into thinking this is somehow a world buildt on communism?

Let say that the "reference" is in euro for the subscription fee. The game subscription fee in euro would be 14.99€ and in dollar it would be $19.99. Given an exchange rate around 1,40. Now instead of $19.99 they would raise it to $24.99 :S I think you would react to that.

Now when it is done,no exchange rate balancing, it is ok. When it's not that obvious as they replace the $ with €. This is a quite feasible thing to correct and do it right.

This money exchange is a world of complications... as NCSoft has HQs in both EU and US (or from a better point of view, their HQ is in Korea), I don't see why they charge like this, unless the laws of VAT and extra taxes from EU force them to make the the price equivalent to the US price.

Just because other companies do change their prices it doesn't mean they aren't losing money with that.

Anyway, I also have to buy subscriptions and games (especially from video games) from the US and ship it to Brazil, otherwise I'd have to pay twice, sometimes triple the amount I would pay in here. It's so ridiculous.

The lowest I can remember since the Euro got introduced was 1 Euro = 1.03 USD and this is, how the EURO initially was created for, to have a currency that matches the US 1:1.
However, for the last 3 years the EURO was never less worth then 1.25 USD and tody it's 1 EURO = 1.40 USD.
So stop keep talking crap, that the americans were in the same situation before, then we europeans are today. It doesn't hold true to the reality.
Fact is, for the last 7 years, since we europeans actually pay in EURO, we're paying allways more then the americans, if the company does only switch out the currency-sign.

Not true. The lowest was 1 EURO = 0.8281 USD, 1 USD was worth more than 1.2 EURO. So they WERE in the similar situation.

For almost a year from the introduction with euro in physical coins. Since 2003 the Euro has been worth more then Dollar. How did thing look during 2002, was $ being replaced with € aswell in this manner?

Personally if i like something ,i could not care less about the price within reason of course. There are a million types of entertaiment and gaming is still one of the cheapest out there.

Each person has to look at themselves and decide if they already waste tons of money everyday, those people could exchange some waste for gaming easily. For those that barely survive paycheck to paycheck,i would not recomend a P2P game at all, stick to the cheaper F2P games, live within your means.

For myself if i liked Aion and their developer i would pay as high as 30+ a month ,that is still only 1 buck a day, your not going to find cheaper entertaiment anywhere. The problem is that  I find AIon  to be a cheap design and PVP ,i have zero interest in and NCSOFT,well they top the list of Korean scammers.Real money involved in the game with a design to encourage RMT and a  KNOWN [failure] for anti hack is a giveaway the company is crooked.Almost "ALL"Korean games are infested with botting and RMT trading  at very high rates.

The great thing about capitalism.is, thereisnt only one store in the world.

You dont need to buy the game off steam. Im canadian and i dont use steam. I have no problem walking into the store and buying the box.

The problem is the monthly subs in general. Chinese are not paying for the box and paying per hour. $15 US will get you 300 hours in China, to most people that would last a couple months. I'm not american but I think it's stupid to blame it on the american price when China is getting this game the cheapest.

However you get what you pay for, the more money you are paying NCSoft per month the more they value your business and the higher quality service you will get. If thats not enough for you, good luck finding another game. I'd play Aion even if it was $30 a month because MMO's are cheap entertainment and I get my money's worth since it saves me from buying and renting xbox games as often. Sometimes it saves me a trip to the theatre. I used to spend tons of money on video games and movies and MMO's have cut my expenses.

Sorry that your looking for a bail-out on playing a mmorpg, when all mainstream games are about $50 for the box with a $15 recurring fee.

  • PranksterPrankster Member UncommonPosts: 163

I wont personally pay 50$ for the box. If the game turns out to be gods own MMO then later on when its a free download I'll get involved. I have 6 other games on my shelves at the moment that offer nearly an identical experience. No innovation = no sale.

I thought we were born playing "gods own mmo". That's why I play online mmo's to begin with....besides god's mmo has unfair and expensive pricing practices. All the cash shops ruined the game anyway.

    It's called market economics.

First, it costs more for licensing, maintainence, et al in Europe than it does in the US, as we don't tax shit to death as much here as there.

Second, y'all are old!  You don't have the youth market that the US has.  The US is the youngest of first-world nations.  we are third in overall population.  We buy more games than you.  So, you pay more for the average game.  Deal with it.

Finally, I would love to get a game for ten to twenty percent higher a price, considering that our high medications PAY for your free/low cost perscription prices. If you had to pay in medical costs what they shove down throats here, Y'all would either be paying Sweden's taxes, or be bankrupt.

    Well if you are intrested

    £34.99 = 39.7984746 Euros

So british pay 10 euro less than rest EU members.

With that you can file complaint here:
