THREAD CLOSED

Ok first i would like to give a thanks to anybody who helps out.

`Anyway, how do i know if a OEM hard drive uses Sata II and not Sata I?

`Is Sata 3.0 Gb/s a second the same as Sata II?

`Does this hard drive use Sata II or Sata I cables?  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319

`Does this MoBo use Sata II cables? (compatable with above hard-drive) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138143

`Finally- Do you need to use jumper pins with Sata II hard drives?

Thanks everyone! I really am clueless when it comes to sata II as you can tell

It doesn't really matter unless its an SSD drive.  Most magnetic drives won't be capable of getting over 150MB/s.  Their speed would be around 42~50MB/s.

Oops didn't notice your question was about compatibility.

My SATA II drives do have a jumper that sets it to 1.5gb/s or 3.0gb/s you might want to check, not that a 7200rpm drive can really saturate the 1.5gb/s anyway.
