Raiding.

HeY!

Ok normally on mmos i play i raid pretty hard.   ive been trying out lotro for a bit now and getting into the mid levels.  I have a few questions aobut end game that id like to know.

1. How many end game raids are there and are more planned?

2.  Are any of them 'very difficult'.  I like it when a raid is hard enough that not everyone on the server gets it done.

3.  Could a 'raider' be satisfied with the group raids/instances at endgame?

thank you!

    1. There is only 1 big 12-man raid and 2x lair-bosses at lvl 60. They say the new raid Dar narbugud is really good but I havent tried it yet. Lots of 6-man instances and also some 3-man. You need to get "radiance" gear from the smaller instances to access the bigger raids. We dont get new radis very often sadly :(

    2. Atleast there is alot of whining that some of the instances are too hard... Dark Delving is a really hard 6-man instance that most people cant complete. The Watcher is very hard 12-man boss and the new raid should be challenging aswell. But this is not a hardcore raiding game.

    3. Personally I love the end-game raids/instances in LotrO but its alot more casual friendly than other MMOs. WoW and EQ2 are probably better for hardcore raiders.

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

so what is the 'challenge' of this game?  What keeps you going at endgame?

I've wondered this myself, when I asked my friend who plays this game he told me that it was mostly the community, the PVP with the monsters and the customizing you can do with your housing.  Well thats all that I can remember him saying, he tends to rant a lot.

I dunno if anyone else could shed some light on the replay value I'd be interested to hear it as well.

Same thing that keeps me going in every game. Itemization, completing all the current end game content, helping guildies, crafting, rep grinding, etc.

It doesn't have the tiered raid content like in EQ2 or WoW but there are plenty of dungeons end game to keep you occupied.  So there are plenty of things to do but for a "hardcore raider" they would probably be more at home with WoW or EQ2 in my opinion. Myself, I prefer the smaller group content.  Raiding on a constant basis is tedious to me and the mentality of a lot of those into that play style gets on my nerves...to put it nicely.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
