Majesty?. It does soo much things rigth that you feel it has born like that. His natural right is to be awesome. It has born like that... Withouth all these Alfa / Beta phases that all software has to suffer.

Can't find an MMO worth playing
I played last night for the first time and my reactions are the same. It was a blast. Graphics are great and I only had a minor lag problem a couple of times. Can't wait to play again tonight.
Well im not going to get an Aion tattoo anytime soon but im having a lot of fun with it as well. Im glad i preordered and am getting this taste of it. As of now its a keeper but as the fellow above said it is the honeymoon period.
If you like Lineage 2 and Guild Wars, you will be hooked on this game for months to come. It definetly has the same characteristics of both. But when all is said and done, its another level based mmo to reach level XX.
Is it fun? Right now yes.. Maybe because its new and refreshing. Will it be fun 2 years from now? I will let you know if I make it that far.
Its definetly worth taking a look at. If your anxious to try this game, go either to Best Buy and pickup a BETA Pre-order disk for $5.00 dollars or I think you can go to Fileplanet still.
For north American there is no NDA involved ... i know i didnt sign or anything that states that there was a NDA

It's all the small things that add up to make this game fun. I don't need anything new, as long as it's polished and well done. I love MMO's and every game doesn't need to reinvent the whole genre. Perfecting previous ideas is important as well. For me I love the music and how it changes with where you are and how it really fits in with the places you are and things you are doing. Also I love skill chains because I end up having to hit buttons a lot less. All I have left to experience is PvP, and through years of games with mediocre PvP I will be happy with anything really.
Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
nope nda has been lifted on the 16 of june
I understand the OP's instant love of the game - and I hadn't paid any attention at all to this game until last week.
There's not much new in Aion's PvE - but I started playing and had trouble tearing myself away from it. I enjoyed every minute of my time in the CB this last weekend and feel I got my pre-order deposit's worth out of just that.
I'm hopeful that the end-game PvP will give the game some enjoyable longevity, but even if I only play for it 6 months, I'll be happy with that.
I have played Aion since the Chinese Open Beta and I am loving the game too. I played wow for quite some time and I am just ready for something different that no amount of Expansions or content updates can fix. I played AoC and WAR in beta and at release hoping to find a new mmo to jump to but they never quite did it for me. After playing Aion a qhile I am happy with the quality of the game and it is a refreshing change. Last beta period I got my Ranger to 19 and went into the first elite area, Black Mau Village. It was pretty fun and I will say that this game put the much needed challenge back into my mmo experience, and I didn't have to get to the all too often fabled "End game content" to get to it. The questing zones are pretty, there are plenty of quests so far to level up on, I love the character models and the combat animations for every class are very cool. Looks like this is going to be a great game and I can wait to get into more of the content.
Im addicted too!
I dont know why though...i mean its a good game and all but it doesnt to much new. However i found myself having some fun times during CB4.
For me this is my first Korean MMO, so maybe thats it?
There's something to be said for the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Aion has taken the best of what's been enjoyable in other other mmos, and thrown in some improvements (customisation and pvp-wise).
I think it's a good recipe for success.
I've been doing the WoW thing since closed beta in '04, and this is the first thing to come along that has really swayed me to finally pack up, pick up, and move over to something new. Luckily plenty of my guild mates feel the same way, so I won't be alone.
Funny, I had the opportunity to join the Chinese beta a while back, and I passed. Now I'm kicking myself for not discovering this sooner, but I guess that's a good thing. It will still be fresh and new for me when my fellow guild mates join me as well.
I logged onto my main in WoW today, and kept accidentally hitting keys for functions I used in the AION beta.
heh, I was doing it the other way around. Using WoW buttons for Aion.
After awhile I got fed up and change all the buttons to WoW's config.
I find Aion to be enjoyable, but too many people had over expectation of what Aion, no actually they expect any new game that comes out to be a revolutionary change to the MMORPG industry. What I find Aion interesting from the beta experience that made me feel like it is at least a small step forward compare to current MMORPG already released is the following:
Crafting:
Aion made crafting a rather interesting process, it is repetitive sure. However, it is not too easy and not incredibly hard. For the people that believe Aion crafting is incredibly long and painful process, I dare you to try maxing goldsmithing in FFXI. Aion will seem like cake walk, well and WoW will feel like breathing I suppose.
Combat:
This point really grabs me, i like to play agile melee in general in most MMO. However Aion's combat system made me consider maybe playing other classes. In terms of melee combat, I enjoy the fact that I actually have to pay some attention in order to kill efficiently. The chain skills are rather straight forward, but the defensive skills and counter skills made me feel like I am actually reacting to the mob instead of just trying to zerg it down. Ranged characters however doesn't feel the same type of intensity, but the chain skills and various binding state (knock down, back, aerial, etc) and the following devestating attacks from achieving those states are rather fun to play around with. I recently discovered the movement bonus during combat, I am not sure how that work quite yet, it sounds kind of annoying, but at the same time it also make moving in combat a tactical choice.

Yeah I agree. I can also add that I like the crafting allthough its not as complicated as I wanted it . But the fact that you can get lucky and get a green item for crafing regualar ones, and also get BLUE stuff for crafting greens

Thanks, I saw an earlier post on another site about movement bonus, but it was badly written. It made it look as if there are different types of bonuses instead of just one set.
Actually I am glad it is a bit simpler this way, other wise I'd have to check what bonus or penalty i get each time the cursor show up before I can move. LOL
Thx alot for that, I been so busy testing quest, combat, and each of the 8 classes to 25 that I completely missed that movement bonus till I saw that release note.

I read somewhere that moving sideways does not lower your attack. Can anyone confirm this? I'm at work and can't do the searching atm
I just tried it on the chinese server, and it lowered my attack, up my evasion. Maybe a later patch, they don't have, changes it.

OK thank you.
I rather not play Aion until it's actually out, the beta is .. err outdated and boring. The community is 0/10, no one interacts with each other, not even for group quests. Each and every one of them are in their little individual "groups."
For the time being, I'll be playing WoW. When Aion releases I'll finally be able to post something positive about the game C: ..After I play and get a gooooooood experience of it of course :P
