It's massive, because there is one server per region. Meaning, everyone in the North American region is going to be on the same server, and everyone in the North American region is going to be fighting over the same land.
I can understand your guy's point of views, however you need to look at the bigger picture and see what HiRez Studios means when they say matches matter. It's not like TF2 where you go match to match with no end consequence. Your character gains money, skills, and armor which you can hang on to.
Even if all of that none sense isn't a good enough reason for the game to 'qualify' for some arbitrary title, that does not take away from the game play, and I hope you guys check the game out at some point or another. As an alpha tester, I can asure you that the fun factor is certainly there. ^_^
Here is my last word on this issue. GA may be a grreat multiplayer but no way I am paying 15 bucks a month FOR JUST A GLORIFIED LOBBY
That's pretty much how I feel. The lobby is essentially a server browser with chat in other FPS games. Does it really matter if you get an interactive lobby in this game? Only this is more akin to Diablo 2 where you can meet people to trade, join clans and start a game up.
That and after watching the recent number of gameplay videos, I see no reason why I wouldn't just play another FPS game that does everything better. I'd rather have a persistent world with real territory control and clan politics if I were going to play a game like this over other triple A shooters with co-op, online and single-player.
Why is everyone assuming it's just a PvP game. If you actually did any research you'd see it has quite a bit of PvE elements; missions, instanced dungeons, boss fights, etc...

60 vs 60 is big enough to be concidered massive.

are you sure it'll be so vs 60, it reads as if you will be split into 10v10's
