Is he a big fan or does he work for Funcom PR?

Probably both. We will never know. Just like those Ensidia no-lifers - they will never tell if they are sponsored.

Does it matter?  People who get payed to say something will say the samething as someone who wants to say it.

Endisida for no lifers, sure do have some pretty hot chicks in their guild.  If you saw the blizzcon video of last year  there was some hot scandanavian girl in the guild, they were doing a live kiljaedan run, she was so hot:).

Did it ever occur to you that he might just be a fan of the game? Just because you dont like the game and he says positive things about it doesnt mean he's being paid to do it.

The game sucked butt zits when it launched and I didnt resub.  I resubbed 2 months ago to check it out. Personally imo the game has improved significantly to justify giving my $15 a month to funcom.

Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR.
    Playing EVE Online and AOC.
    Wtg for SW:TOR and WOD

It actually did, that's why it was one of the two options I presented in my very short post.

He is on these forums defending the game almost 24/7, thats more than any normal fan would ever do.

To my knowledge AmazingAvery was just a normal enthousiast fanboi that was hired by funcom during beta..

I can be wrong, its just something that comes to my mind when i hear that name. But then for me AoC is the far and distant past, fun for exactly 20 levels. I never looked back at this one.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

You could also say the same for the Darkfall fans also. Are they being paid?

You could say the same for AIon fans also. Are they being paid?

You could say the same for  SW:tOR fans also. Are they being paid?

You could say the same for the WoW fans also. Are they being paid?

    Etc Etc Etc.......

I was a big fan of WAR until it let me down. I wasnt being paid. At this point youre just trashing  or attempting to trash someone with no information to back up your claims or accusations. Epic fail bro.

Advocates are not paid Funcom employees.

They are just AoC players who applied for the position.

Advocates are there to help in organizing and collecting feedback from the community to send to the developers.

if i recall correctly when he showed up AOC was having ads for being a sponsor and spreading the good word for free gametime.

there was also before they did that they had hired a bunch of reps to go and defend the game but that quickly back fired as the backlash turned into what kind of horrible game must it be that they hire a bunch of goons so they dropped that off and turned it into the free gametime.

they really were the first to start the hiring people to go on boards and defend the game thing. a few other mmo companies have since adopted it as well unfortunately.

    good trip down memory lane.

Not the same thing; they will TRY!  But inside you'll always see this sort of "I wouldn't be this positive if I were honest" .. OR.. "I would voice more negativitiy if I weren't being payed"

well, you won't always consciously see it.. but thats part of it.. they'll try, and you have to try too :)

Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.

Avery is  just a long time fan / player of AoC who became an Advocate .

    What is an Advocate?  http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?p=2240666

He does a good job keeping this (mmorpg.com) community informed of what's happening in AoC.

Hey TSW Players http://www.unfair.co/ for Mission guides, Lore Locations and stuff....
