It amazes me that this game in not liked by some people. I figure the majority of people that dont like FFXI is because you cant get Lv.75 in a week. Why would you want that anyway? FFXI has so much in the game. I have been playing it for 9 months and I find something new about it everyday. Not only are there a ton guilds to synthesis food, item, etc. but there are some that arent on the list, like logging, and harvesting. Hundreds of quest for all levels, tons of sub quests, and even quests related to a specific job or race. The sub job part of the game is awesome. There are so many combinations of what you can make of your character. At Lv.18 your get sub job. At Lv.20 you get your chocobo riding license. At Lv.30 you get to start questing your advanced jobs. All during this time you get Fame in different towns which makes your reputation in the game get better. Also at Lv.30 you can become a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Mentor and help some of the noobs. Not only can you fight regular monsters, there are Notorious Monsters, Special Notorious Monsters for special items and quests, but there are Avatar fights, and GOD fights.
But in saying that, everyone has there interests and this MMORPG is great for me. And for others that don't like this particular game, thats why there are of other mmorpg's.

the reason most peoiple dont like it is because its hard and people dont like hard lol. I love it because
1. its final fantasy
2. its hard
3.nice graphics
4. great gameplay PvP and such
5. a story line : D

I haven't started FFXI yet, but i'm gonna start this x-mas. I'm just curious about it really, from what you guys are saying it sounds like i'm going to love it...So many people ave been trying to make me not get it but it seems like its got an almost perfect balance of graphical features as well as gameplay features that are a must to try.
Really I don't think there is any online game that sucks, because I just love trying them all but from the loks of things FFXI will be one of my top games after I get it.
heh same with me I'm getting my PS2 version for X mas.
i think no gane can com paire to any of the final fantasys...hmm maby ff9...
final fantasy the searis is 100x(if not more) better than any game lets find out in a poll with the so called top game of all.

Nothing personal but those who don't like final fantasy because its hard are idiots. However this game does suck in some aspects ONE the biggest is not being able to solo. Now I know what your going to say I like partying with other people blah blah blah....
well I don't and they didn't think about the fact that some people enjoy soloing every now and then. And NO Beastmaster is not the answer to soloing I would like to solo with any class I have instead of starting all over everytime I start a class.
TWO Jap Farmers. Nothing personal but Japs suck. They are way better at this game then us and they do really insane things that most normal americans never even knewn about.
I saw this Jap farmer one time spend all day. I logged off and logged back on later that night hunting for a useless rare item that doesn't do that much. Still he wanted it and he waited all there to get it.
They are obsessed and the game becomes a typical treadmill after playing two or three classes.
And if you don't think I don't know what I am talking about. I had a red mage level 60 before I quit for the second time. I was stupid to come back to game that requires no brain cells to play.

In the end you all look the same.....a must by for Square Fanboys who think they can do no wrong.

I quit FFXI when I finaly went poopy on the fact that all ya get resembling Guilds was a linkshell pearl.
I like guilds, I like housing, I like......stuff!
I havent checked, but if there aint proper guild tools, I aint gona even consider coming back. (been away for a very long time)

A) there are alot of lvl 60's that dont have anything good to say because they have ridden on coattails their whole career.
