I don't really want to go searching for you, but here's a link:
VG connection problem forum
VG general tech issues forum
If you haven't already go google "sony station launcher. I think the URL is something like launcher.station.sony.com or maybe station.launcher.sony.com. Any install station launcher and run vanguard from the lancher. If you look at options there is an option to do a full scan. Go to station -> preferences and there should be a vanguard option on the left side of the window. You can then click the button to run a full scan.
If this doesn't help go into the install directory. Then open vgclient.log file. Look for errors. Sometimes there are warnings here about assets not found but those seem to always exist and shouldn't cause a problem.
If you see some errors pointing to bad files or something then go delete all the suspect files. Then rerun the full scan and it will redownload the missing files.
If this doesn't work the you might have some conflict. Go to windows start, select run, and enter msconfig. Do a selective startup, uncheck load startup items reboot and try again, if that doesn't work try unchecking load system services.
Something from this list will work If not get a hammer and destroy your computer because it has bad mojo....

Not any kind of expert here but the first crit error is something to do with the sound.
MAGA
Was thinknig the same thing, But I wasn't sure if its a sound fault on my part, on a sound fault within the games files.
I guess I could try updating my sound card drivers and see if that helps.
<div align='center'><a href='http://www.buddytv.com/closedquiz/closed-quiz.aspx?quiz=1000038'>Which Supernatural Character Are You?<br /><img>
What you are seeing is a sound error. There are a couple of things to try. You can try disabling your soundcard, You can try to download OpenAL(connect.creativelabs.com/openal/default.aspx); then when you've finished patching delete the OpenAl32.dll from your Vanguard/bin folder. There are a couple of other fixes out there such as installing directx 9 or updated .net framework. Not sure which will work for you. Just some ideas
Edit: By patching I mean Vanguard. You want to install the OpenAL(default is fine) Then run Vanguard and as soon as it finishes patching delete the OpenAL32.dll file and launch the game. (This is what worked for me)
Can't hurt and there are alot of smart folks here someone will help you.
MAGA
My drivers are already updated.
I downloaded that AL thing, and removed the file fromthe vanguard BIN folder, No fix
Ima update my Direct X just to make sure.

OK here's a couple questions
Was this your first time running Vanguard? If no, when was the last time you were able to launch the game properly?
What OS are you running?
What kind of sound card do you have?
Have you tried renaming the file X:Program FilesSonyVanguardinvgclient.ini? This file contains system settings, and the game will re-generate this file upon launch.
Yes, this is my first time running Vanguard.
Im running Vista 64bit.
I have a Creative Labs sound blaster X-Fi Xtreme gamer sound card.
Which will should I rename? I have VGClient.int should I change that to a .ini?
<div align='center'><a href='http://www.buddytv.com/closedquiz/closed-quiz.aspx?quiz=1000038'>Which Supernatural Character Are You?<br /><img>
Do you have directx 9 installed? VG doesn't support directx10 which is the default with vista. You can go to microsofts website to download and install directx9. If you haven't done this you will need to in order to run many games.
No don't mess with VGClient.int. Also since this is a new install you don't need to delete you VGClient.ini file either.
One more thought make sure you are running vanguard in adminstrative mode. Right click on the startup icon and select run as administrator. I think the directx update or the sound driver update mentioned earlier are what you need.
I found this thread forums.station.sony.com/vg/posts/list.m looks like this guys problem was the same and the root of the problem looks like he had multiple sound systems installed in vista. Pretty strange. Anyway you might look at vista setup for sound and see if you have any other sound devices that you should disable.

Head over to Creative’s web site and grab Creative Alchemy, install the prog, and run it. Once it is up use the add button to create a new profile, and fill out the details to create a vanguard profile. Use the option "use game path" not "Use registry" and point it to Vanguards main folder, and click ok. Once that is done select the new profile from the list on the left and use the arrow to move it over to the right pane, then you can close it.
This program fills a hole in vista which no longer supports sound cards natively in Directx, creative cards designed pre Vista and Dx10 can cause problems as they are not initialised correctly when programs try to access the sound sub system. Creative's Alchemy patches in drivers to correct the problem so that software can access all the soundcards acceleration features. It is generally a good idea to create a profile for all games run in vista, as you may be running some games using minimal features or even software sound emulation without even realising it.
Oh and a performance tip, make sure you grab Vistas new sp2 which was just released, I am getting performance gains in a number of older games since installing it.

Ah, got it working.
I disabled some of the sound devices and now all is well.
Thanks for the help everyone
