LF simple rpg for a girl

2ashers22ashers2 Member Posts: 2

Since my sister got out of school and I have been edging to find a new online game to play, I though it would be fun to find an online ftp rpg that we can play together to pass time. Shes only 11 but she has tried playing RO1 and 2 for a me in the past and she got the hang of it pretty fast, as long as I was there to explain the basics. I would like to find something that we can progress together in (like leveling and quest) and a game where you can do more quest than just killing monsters to level. More customizations is a plus and of course something that isn't specifically for kids (like toontown) cause I want to enjoy it to, but something that isn't too difficult so that I can pick it up easily myself and explain to my sister how to play.

I see a lot of childish/girly graphic style games out now, I have been to (I think) all their sites and read their reviews but I don't really don't trust them since most of them are biased. I don't really have the time to install and try every one of them out. I'm pretty sure someone here has tried a few of them and can make recommendations or help me choose.

I have played RO1&2, wonderland online, trickster,  and luna online already... If I can't find anything new I might just take up luna or trickster again but I prefer something new. Please don't suggest maplestory or flyff.

Free Realms? A little weak on the group content and its not a 'serious' MMO but it can still be a lot of fun.

Try Yulgang Online? It's fairly simple, super cute and not as nearly irritating as MapleStory.. Can check it out at yulgangsea.com, the open beta's today so ur sis should be able to play immediately.

I have heard good things about Dragonica. I'm thinking about downloading that tomorrow while I work on my papers.

I'm playing Dragonica Closed Beta right now from THQ*ICE and it's pretty much what you just explained. It's cute with graphics and everything but the skills are a lot of fun, and it's not like I'm ashamed to play it everytime someone walks by. (Seventeen year old guy playing this. I have played games before that made me Alt + F4 to get out xD) It's a very easy game to pick up mainly because even if you get a lot of skills everyone has a tactic to kill monsters. (Hardly any of the spells are "useless") Pretty much every class learns to "juggle" monsters so that's pretty much the hardest thing to learn in that game, which isn't all that hard. (Meaning if I was an archer, I would hit (A) on my keyboard and then hold down (Z) and (A) would fire the monsters upwards and (Z) would hold them up in the air with constant damage.) Though if you don't want to do that just keep on hitting buttons. I know right now I'm playing a mage and all I do is hit the X button over and over again spamming attacks and I do just fine without hitting monsters into the air constantly. xD One major good thing for you though is that Dragonica is a "room" based game, meaning you and your sister can both join a party (up to four people in a party) or by yourselves and clear the dungeons. The plus side to that is pretty much after level 15 I found myself not even getting close to a dungeon unless a party was accepting members. The second advancement for a job is level 20 so don't think it's going to be MapleStory where you have to get into the triple digits to get your second job. (I know about MapleStory lol, I played it until I was around level 90. So don't think I believe that sentence. xD) Well...I don't know what else to say. Oh, if one of you are planning to go melee (or both) you better have some reflexes because regular monsters and boss monsters alike have animations before they attack. You'll pretty much be watching them the whole fight besides your health. xD Good Luck ^^ ~

Wow your right what was I thinking!

Oh and Pi Story is an alright game I got bored of it fast.  Solstice is just slow.  Walk slow, attack slow, Level up slow.

You should check out Ether Saga. I've been playing it for a few days now and it's awesome!

    Maplestory, hands down.

It's got chibi characters, relatively innocent monsters until higher levels, plenty of partying to do, and can be a LOT of fun for younger kids.

It's pretty easy to get the hang of, too.

World of Warcraft can be simple and fun if you want it that way. And girls always get special attention there hehe.

I say you break down and buy you and your sister Everquest 2.  A lot of females play and I would say about 95% of the population is friendly and helpful.  It's not as simple as most of the F2P's are but it has a lot of content and you probably wouldn't get bored with it any time soon.

I agree, Eq2 is a very user friendly game with lots of nice people. I'll agree with fireball on this one!

Freerealms would be a good start. Or WoW

I agree that free realms could be a good one to try.Too bad its not working on your sisters computer.Have you tryed updating her web browser or maybe try a different web browser like firefox or opera.(of course having your latest video card driver helps a lot too :)

If you want something very similar to Ro you should really try trickster online  its basicly like Ro but they get tons of updates.Sadly the game is basicly quest and grind so nothing too different in there except the crazy amount of pets/items...

    Good luck!

You people are suggesting games that people think are "girly".  The idea is not to be girly is about what she and her sister enjoy playing that is fit for both of their age.  Which ironically is a rather harsh standard.  I am sorry, but I don't have enough information on what is considered enjoyable to both of you to recommend a game.

If you have more information on which features you are looking for in a game then I might make a few suggestions that fit the bill.

Well I would say wait for open beta of Dragonica online but I would try Fiesta Online its user friendly and lots of fun i think your sister and you would like it!!!!   Here is a link: http://fiesta.outspark.com/     Or like someone said maplestory but its fairly hard to level! I would ask around to see if anyone as any extra beta keys to Dragonica its really fun!
