    Playing EvE is real. The choices you make in that game have real life consequences.

     

    Actually, since my behavior in-game is a good reflection of my real life personality, I've always believed that maladjusted people in games are also the same in real life.  Haven't seen any indicators to prove differently.

    Boy was I wrong!  I was 4 jumps out of empire and the blues were long gone.  I noticed a yellow pilot named Chalypso's Wrath in a Harbinger gate camping.  Since he wasn't a red flashy or at war with our corp., I didn't figure it to be a big deal ----  until he locked me. 
    My hauler is shield tanked with some resistance amplifiers and a medium shield booster.  Once locked, he took my shields out in one cycle.  I miraculously timed my shield boost cycle, and recharged up to full shields with only taking about 20% armor DMG --- 3 low sec jumps to go.
    He proceeded to follow me to every gate for the last 3 jumps before empire, and each time he took out about 25% armor.  But my timing with my shield booster proved to me too much for him, and I just barely made it into Empire with about 25% armor left. 
    My palms were sweaty, my heart was racing as this was one of the most thrilling hauls I have ever made.  I sold off all the loot for about 70M.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
    Perhaps the best part was me razzing Chalypso's Wrath at the last gate by saying in local "Nice try douchebag", then warping.  No other game offers an experience like this.

    1.  My name is Calypso's wrath.

    2. You did not "get away" through any skill of your own. As soon as I locked you, you were warp scramed. Luckey for you, you had a warp core stab on which allowed you to warp anyways.

    3. I was in a Vagabond (heavy assault cruiser).

    4. Smack talking is just one way to get a target on your back. 1st person to eve mail me the killmail for a shiny ship of this guys (isk value has to be over 50million isk ship and mods) + contract me his corpse gets 25 million isk from me. You can reach me ingame: Calypso's wrath. 

    5. After you jumped in, I had a choice: Keep going for a hauler that COULD have been full of loot, or go for the shiny Command ship that was more than happy to Agro me on the gate. (he died, and i got his stuff)

    Responses like that in local, often lead to you losing everything you own. Keep shooting your mouth off in EvE and see what happens when you end up camped into a station for a few days :P

    THAT is what makes EvE rock, the ability to completely grief some loudmouth until he/she is so frustrated they decide to either (a) quit playing alltogether or (b) stop acting like a clown.

    No other game places as much emphasis on the way you conduct yourself having an effect on your ingame rep, take note.

    I was going to add a cry on forum option and link it to a whine thread. But actually I did not find any in the last two months of this forums history. Well, I did not find anyone that draw my attention based on the topic.

    (a) quit playing alltogether

    (b) stop acting like a clown

    (c) ...

    Anyway, I agree with you. And want to add (again) that as this is a single world/server people on forums like this also get's recognition, still remembering [THISGUY] passing through a system and recognizing from this forum. So, yeah, kill the asshats from the forum aswell, in this case [THISGUY] is a decent fellow.

    One thing that makes me laugh at the turds that play eve sometimes, sensitivity. I earned the title Corp-Smack Talker and I wear it proud. Its like a bunch of women play the game and cant handle a little razzin about things that happen. I think I know why this is, because 90% of the people who play EVE are them AV nerds from highschool who got picked on by the jocks, and any ounce of smack makes them have flash backs of hiding in the bathrooms sucking there thumbs. Grow some balls and take it. Hell back in the day during UO/DAoC smack talk was welcome. It made the game that much more better. I hate it that EVE is such carebear yet claims to be so hardcore.

    Not everyone plays an idealized version of themselves in rpgs. Some use the opportunity (sp?) of doing something else. Since it requires a lot more social intelligence to play a role that is not your own, it's often pirates that you can have the best conversations with. I've had great talks with people hostile to me while i was hopping savespots. You usually can't do that with bleeding heart carebears who will either whine or smack, regardless of what you do.

    If you're a pirate in EvE, you're scum in my book and deserve whatever you get. Fire breaks out in your house in real life and take down your internet  connection for a few days, well, I think that's justice. Maybe you won't be able to attack unarmed transport or mining ships for a few days.
    Just because you CAN play a game a certain way, doesn't mean you SHOULD. People who choose to play as pirates choose that profession because they like ruining other people's days. And while EvE is "just a game", the time you put into that game is quite real, so lost time can definitely ruin someone's day.
    So yeah, I'll say it right here, right now. If you're a pirate or someone who preys on the unarmed in EvE, then you're a douchebag. It's a fact. You prey on other people. Deal with it.
    EvE is more than just a game. For many people who play it, it's an extension of their own lives. Just because it's virtual doesn't mean it isn't real to them. As I said, time lost is very, VERY real.

    there are a lot of reason to kill someone , and THANKS GOD pvp isnt consensual :

    -loot (all haulers fall in here , to me it`s just like farming rats)

    -defence (if someone is in the space of my alliance and not blue....well...)

    -offence (as part of an effort against the target`s alliance/corp for whatever reason)

    -retribution (attitude and words matter....a lot....sure run your mouth all you want but sometimes there will be consequences)

          and many many more

     

    and since i have some cash around and i`m enjoying this lil game....why don`t you let us all know you EvE name?

    But I supose I`m not...since it`s obvious that my 10 or so suicide ganks in empire mean I`m actually a deranged psycho IRL who`s just playing EvE to vent his frustration or something

    As for smaking....it`s all good as long as it stays in game . I mean it`s fun having beer and hanging in local with goons

    Pirates are douchebags. Not a comment about the player in real life, they can be a very respectable person in real life, kind to everyone that they meet. But in the game, they are portraying a douche bag. It's just the way it is, the pirates that are getting upset over this are really the ones that have lost the distinction between game and real world.

    All of those who said "the pirate is a douche" are simply ignorant of what EVE is all about, you ppl should know what the hell are you talking about before talking out of your ass.

    Lest make a list on why this nub carebear was a perfectly valid target:

    1.- He went into 0.0 KNOWING IN ADVANCE its a free for all zone and he went willingly.  The game gives an alert before jumping into those systems as a warning, you accept the risk and be ready to pay the price.

    2.- He went into providence, there is a 4 year old conflict in that region involving 2 RP alliances, UK will shoot in sight any people supporting CVA, therefore making money in providence is supporting our enemy, and you become a target.

    3.- He was stupid enough to go into a region without knowing the politics of the place, if you live in providence for a day you sure as hell will learn UK are hostile towards anyone who support CVA. He clearly said, "i saw him as orange but didnt worry because im not at war at him" <---stupid assumption kind sir, in eve, and specially in 0.0 EVERY ONE IS A POSSIBLE THREAT.

    4.-He smacktalked, and then glorifies his deed in a public forum therefore hes becoming a bigger target, i sure as hell want to know your ingame name, and since I'm in providence ill hunt your ass specially just to teach you some manners.

    I agree with you on one thing tho, the adrenaline rush you get in EvE is unique.

    Why? because in no other game you will put that much at stake and you can loose all your stuff in the blink of an eye, and thats the kind of thing that makes you learn to be carefull. If you are used to die and simply respawn without loosing a thing, then this game is not for you.

    Not really, most just haven't played long enough to appreciate the true depth of the game. In time most players will be on both side of this type of fight. Then they will appreciate what both sides are risking and bring to the game. The pirate in the HAC could have just a easily been nailed before he ever saw the indy. If it weren’t to some degree personal it wouldn’t have been as fun. I wouldn’t have smack talked him, but I would have been just as excited to get away. I may have even told him good try, but if the OP choose to smack it's not really a big deal.

    Hold on there skipper the OP said the pilot was 'yellow'. This means all he saw was a skull. In providence, you do not shoot pirates unless they are KOS. So, this guy was not a red minus sign to the OP

     

    The pirate was complete fail anyway. We were just in providence other night and a hauler got pass our camp due to shields and warp core stabs (and lack of DPS to instapop him). after he got away we didnt follow him all through providence like a desperate vulture

     

    The pirate failed and got called out for his fail. Next time bring more DPS if you want to pop the hauler correctly (like SBs). And man up and come into nullsec. Our gang comes into providence nullsec to mess with CVA.... We dont focus on popping noobs. Ok so its fun to pop noobs granted that but we will fight CVA as long they not zerg

    I saw your killboard I didn't mean it as 'comprehensive' fail. You just failed to kill the hauler in this instance after chasing him through all those gates

     

    Sadly I just checked Providence KOS and didnt see my character on there yet although my Alliance is..... Guess I will have to try harder next time I get a chance to head that way....

     

    edit- I gotta give you props for posting as yourself. I'd love to reveal who my main is but alas I run my mouth too much on public forums so must remain undercover :(

    Like I said just PM me and we can arrange the transfer of ISK. I think the only one that is afraid to take a chance is you

     

    It is not logical for me to reveal my identity without proper compensation for risking my Alliance and fellow innocent corpmates. We are all just peaceful players and easy targets after all.

    Some of us rat in our HACs (like me) and t3 cruisers and Carriers. We are do not know war and as you claim and we are afraid of a fair fight
