The Odyssey Online Classic
The Odyssey Online Classic is a free, top-down 2-d MMORPG. Once you select out of the various classes, you battle against monsters and other players to acquire the best equipment and fame. Odyssey is a simple game yet very addicting, I suggest it to any MMORPG'er thats out there looking for a good, free game

man i hate cry babies who only judge games by the graphics.
when i grew up (you know, commodore, and atari and nintendo) we didnt complain like little girls that the flowers werent pretty, and their hands were block shaped, and it wasnt uber polished.
I guess kids these days are so spoiled the only thing that matters to them is the flowers and if they are pretty are not.
Oh well, must be why MMO's invest so much of the dev team into graphics these days.
You didn't complain because ugly flowers, blocky hands, and unpolished games were the norm and top of the line at that point.
Its his opinion I guess, If he doesn't like games without attractive graphics so be it.
Haha, I love the sceen that has "There are 9 other players online..." displayed in the chat window! Holy cow! I REALLY wanna play that game all those ppl to get familiar with!
But seriously...nah. There are better free ones that that one. Just look at the list mmorpg.com has.
Well, the game isnt for you if youre looking for graphically advanced, its designed to run on slower machines. But, as someone just said, you shouldnt judge a game by its graphics.
Why don't I give you a biref history of the game before you go calling it some playerworlds piece of shit. This game came LONG before playerworlds and mirage, mirage was based off the code of this game, then sold to playerworlds. Yes, obviousy the graphics arent great, but a lot of the greatest MMORPG's had bad graphics *cough*faldon*cough*
wow, I'm see'n alot of negative feedback and flaming but, no other free online game suggestions so here's mine..
There is a military online game called America's Army I think (correct me if I'm wrong)
Also Shattered Galaxies is another free one, reminds me of starcraft a good bit but, it's more in depth - It's based in asia somewhere so there's alot of weird lingo to get used to.
If you get really desperate there is a game called runescape, now if ya wanna talk about aweful graphics - well it's an aweful game in my opinion but, there were some pretty high lvl players on it for being a crap o' the line type game.
That's all the freebie's I can think of atm. Plus enter all the contests from mmorpg.com - I won a free month with deluxe apartment on anarchy online - ALMOST got addicted, very nice game.
Personally I'm a Worlds of Warcraft PvP fan. ($50 + $15 a month - still less than cable here and more enjoyable).

Ill be honest with you...this game...not so good
I LOVE the old snes, 2d graphics, but the game play...pretty disappointing
i played for and hour and a half, and it was good at first. the worst part was the community, they were nice, but extreamly small, and half of them wouldn't stop talking about stuff that was completly rude and off subject...
Oh! and they tell you up front-Be the knight, all mages and other classes dont have any skills, and the knight is the strongest character.
...what? everyone has no skills? maybe once the skills get implemented i will go back...but for now, ill stick to the forums and waiting two more days till the mega-give away...cause im winning the Iceland trip....and if i dont.....

my three cents-- Stay away from this game, i understand its free, and they might not have a big income...but i would still hesitate before i return to this

lol, i give you credit sully, just for trying it, even after the graphics, you must truly love mmorpg's. But like i said before, its not a game for everyone. And, im obviously going to advertise the game im currently playing, because i want more people to pvp against
but anyways, the knights are the strongest class thus far, but the game is still under heavy development, and im not sure when you went to the site, but the admin just posted about magic on the site earlier today, so all that stuff is on the way.
just so everyone knows, i plan on winning the trip to iceland =p

this is exactly the attitude that forces developers to put more money into the art department than all the other ones combined. and we get a horrible game called star wars galaxies.
