I am so with you malk!
I was first interested in trials of ascension.... and still am if they would move a little further than re-releasing religion info after 4 months..
This one will probably come out sooner and looks awesome too, so this will be my second, second generation game i play for sure.
I do always say taste the rainbow but i always sift through my bag o' skittles to get to the white ones.

the graphics arent so great on it, but from what i read into it, it sounds like it will be very enjoyable.
Yes, the graphics are not "out of this world", but im more interested in the gameplay and content anyways!

Exactly the graphics aren't the best but I would still prefer old UO over DAoC anyday. I really cannot wait for this game to come out!!!!

Vaporware comments are really lame because any game or software in development qualifies for the term until it is released.
BTW, Shadowbane was vaporware for many years. I know because I waited three years for it.

When a company has a small developement team and goes months without giving updates, then I call it vaporware.
Mourning has set a release date, and Dark and Light should be out soon
But I woudn't bother thinking about this game

Release dates don't mean squat. Shadowbane gave a shitload of release dates and never kept them. Mourning has already given release dates and they passed a long time ago. Dark and Light is coming out soon? You mean soon(tm), right?
Darkfall's last update was only a little over a month ago. Not "months" as you suggest. Heck, I remember going 6 months without ANY info from Wolfpack on Shadowbane.

A good PvP game has a reason to destroy the enemy! If you kill an enemy and they are just going to respawn for you to kill them again with a small penalty then there is no point. If you are going to get something like territory/land then there is a point. If all you get is a keep or a castle for ten minutes then why should I even log on? I want a motivation.... a reason that is exactly what darkfall is promising and that is what I want.

Last update that I know of was from aug 18th. thats almot 3 months back. If u have any new news newer than that (LOL tounge twiser there) please tell me where to look. I use this site:

For a while(the first year or so I have been following this game) it has been up to date and usualy on the ball. But absoultly nothing has changed for 3 month(almost.. 3 days it will be 3 months)
When will Darkfall come out? It looks great, but I don't want to wait for ever.
That website hasn't been updated. I haven't found a DF fan site yet that does a good job with regular updates. Your best bet is the official Darkfall website.

No, but apparently you are. I have never seen a game with so few updates. They didn't even show up at the big gaming convention over the summer. Obviously because they had nothing to show
Two years ago all the leet pkers were all saying how great this game was gonna be. Now they have all given up on it.

I've been playing MMORPG's since 1998, so no, I'm not new. I've also waited for dozens of MMORPG's in
development over the years and I can tell you from experience that waiting months and months for developer updates is NOT uncommon.
In fact, the amount of updates has had absolutely NOTHING to do with the progress a game is making and whether it gets cancelled or not. Some notable recent examples are Dragon Empires and Warhammer Online both of which had very frequent updates.
I'm not living in a dreamworld, but a real world. A place where I will always support a game of design substance instead of caving in to corporate PvE game crap because I need an immediate "gamer fix." I really don't care what you think about Darkfall. I don't even know why you continue to post on the Darkfall boards here. Why are you even bothering?
Go play WoW or EQII. While you're doing the level grind in EQII or fighting your way through a poorly designed PvP system in WoW I'll either be waiting for Darkfall or testing Darkfall's beta. Either way it is better than playing the crap out there now or even supporting the other gaming crap on the design table.
Do you even know what the "big convention" is called? It is called "E3". Have you ever been to one? It is a waste of time and money unless you're shopping for a publisher which Darkfall already has. One thing Darfkall has promised and that is to make sure there isn't a lot of "hype" before the game is released. Those games shown at E3 are creating, "hype" - nothing more, nothing less. If you buy into that junk, you are being led around by the nose. Which isn't suprising because it sounds like you're following around some "leet pkers" like a puppy dog.

So E3 is a big waste? Then why did every other gaming company show up? Why do you keep trying to make excuses for them?
You are just ignoring the facts and I don't know why.
I'm just trying to save you from spending the next 3 years waiting for a game that may never come out.

Preston, Ive also been dwelling in the mmorpg universe since 1998 (I was 14 back then) and been playing first person shooter years before that so this is the ultimate mmorpg imo, both world combined and the game somehow feels nostalgic even though it's release is in the future ahead.
I just hope they don't rush development, seeing that they haven't and that they don't cease development neither, it's a difficult game to pull off but I have faith in them, I must have unless I'll be left with nothing when I grow bored with WoW (I'll leave WoW for Darkfall upon retail or beta).
And I sure have doubts like many others that this game will be released but Im going to play naive and just say that they are too consumed by their fanatic development of the game and won't spare time on useless events like E3 and instead CREATE THE GREATEST MMORPG EVER.

Nothing so far has matched UO in my opinion, but this looks like a game for us old school UO'ers
I hope to see some beta action within the next 12 months. Playing EQ2 and WoW is just plain boring after the first 2 weeks, I rather go back to UO as it is today. But Id rather see UO like it was from 2002 and before hand...Im sure we would be all doing it to this day if that was the case.
We need more games that will use UO as there benchmark, hopefully before im to old for this sh*t I'll see it happen.

from all the people Ive heard talk about this game, it seems like the majority of them are X-UOers that never got enough of old school UO
and when I first started following DF, i wondered if I was the only one who thought the same about it
UO style pvp was a good way of pvping i would like it to be similar in DF like as in UO,SB only online games i played with pvp so i dont know how it was in Dark age of camolot or others
