If oyu love playing games were you get items to make your char look awesome and super strong....don't play this game.
THere are no items or anyhtign...jsut alot of action and stuff...I love this game its alot of fun. But if you like have items and stuff to make your self better then the rest.....really just don't get this game.
But once city of villains comes out next year...there will be PvP and crafting.....villains specific quests....underground lairs and all.....
but yeah like i said before you likfe items....play WoW or eq/II

Enhancements are not items. They are the equivilent of upgrading a spell in EQII or Horizons. Until issue III introduces gadgets and utilities, stay away if you love drops.

CoH was a great game to play for a while, but there is no surprise to it. I never got excited over finding a particular enhancement, with the exception of my first single-origin drop. It just got old after a while. I may go back to it when City of Villains is released though.

Yeah, and hopefully with CoV they will add something more to further increase that power of your character. Capes, Masks, Boots, etc
Enhancements are not as exciting to collect as loot, but there are temp powers you can find that will last days.
In one mission, I got the Sands of Mu, which game my blaster the ability to use a dark melee skill. There are other temp powers such as the Nemesis staff (very cool) that I was able to use for 5 days. Early in some mission, you get blind grenades that have a limited use (about 6 tries)
There are also the Accolades that you get for completing a series of badges. Crey pistol, Atlas Medallion, etc.
The Accolades are not "uber" but are fun and I've seen the Crey Pistol save the day or help out in combat.
your arguement is so persuasive, so filled with knowledge and insight. You back up your argument very articulately, with suggestions of improvements and raising examples to glorify your position....oh wait, you didn't
When did they do this? that sounds awesome as hell...I wish they had that when I was playing....good thing I am getting back into CoH....heh...
any feed back on this matter would be awesome thx.

I didn't find the temporary powers to be very good. What the game does, it does perfectly. The visual effects were amazing. At times I really felt like I was jumping off a building. There are some missions that I thought were incredible, like the sewer mission where everyone picks up a temporary power. It is just that overall it became a grind to me. I put in a lot of hours though so I obviously found it to be a very entertaining game.
I just think that in answer to the original question....enhancements are not nearly as satisfying as items. It really would be great if, as Bigfoot suggested, the boots, capes, etc. enhanced the powers in some way.

Well I think they might be my friend......there adding crafting.....so I am thinking you are gonna be able to craft weapons and armor and beable to use it now....but we will have to see....again this is somehtign I have heard.
could be fake info.

For me enhancements are like putting your skills in the World of Darkness in a slightly different form.
You are honing your existing powers. To compare them to items is not really appropriate.
Enhancements are a very nice things in themselves, as fun as items can be, but differents(and most games lack them or the equivalent). With the exception of the dual effect enhancements that can somewhat be compare to items in the acquisition process.
Accolades are the closest things to items in form(how to earn them) and effect.

Actually, they are looking to add crafting of *some* sort. But it must fit thematically.
Last I'd heard, they'd mentioned crafting items specifically for a mission (forcefield belt to keep from getting fried in a reactor?)

This is one reason why I didn't like CoH that much. I've grown to collecting items and finding super rare things.
So the answer is no
Looking for something new.
