Why would a company that has paid in the ballpark of $500k-$1,000,000 for a license on a high-profile game engine try to take your money and run?
They are also licensing a few other technologies which puts their expendatures even higher. You really think they would put that much effort into something if they were trying to con everyone? I don't think so, because if they wanted to just con everyone they could do it thousands of times easier.
Even if they did take all the money from pre-orders and disappear, they would be doing so at a loss. Now ask yourself how much sense that makes.

Just charging that much is a scam, regardless of whether there is an actual game. For me, unless there is a hooker that comes with it - no thanks.
Wait, so now people are claiming that Mortal Online is a scam???
Man, this industry just keeps getting more and more entertaining.
I tried to defend Darkfall against ludicrous claims like this, and now it looks like its Mortal Online's turn... come on people, enough with the conspiracy theories. Video Game studios are trying to make video games, and in this terrible economy they are using whatever means available to keep their heads above the water. If they go bankrupt, you don't get to play their video game, simple as that.

I don't get to play it anyhow - too expensive for my budget.

That's not a scam, friend. Scams involve some sort of deceit. That would be, showing the price of the game in your checkout cart as one price, and charging another.
I don't even want to think about what kind of hooker you could get for $75.
Eh, if you are willing to pay for it, there's nothing wrong with it.
(Can't wait for my LE)

Same here, I don't have the money right now to be buying or subscribing to any games. Playing any good F2Ps I can get my hands on until I start getting some money coming in again (start work again in about 2 weeks, sweeet).

Ahh.....now I see why they are broke, wasted too much money making the game.
But seriously, I doubt anyone thinks SV is running an intentional scam, more like they are not sure they can still pull delivery of a quality game in light of their obvious funding problems.

You're making rumor because you can't afford the game? SO youb try to make a bad reputation for the game so they lower they're price ot your liking? rofl... go emo more in your little corner but STFU about starvault scamming and such.
Where do you see that they are running out of money? They planned to release the game this summer, but they're running behind schedule, which isn't a big surprise among MMOs.
I could tell you someone by name on these boards that thinks they are, but that wouldn't be very nice.
Umm, who are you talking to? If it's me, you might want to re-read the first post.

They admitted they were running low on money and thats why they were selling the game early. Basically asking for help from the community and in return they gave the community beta spots in which they could help them even more.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this thread, but the scam rumor didn't start here. Anyways, bad reputation isn't earned through rumors, it's earned through proven lies, of which we havn't seen from Star Vault.
Also, if I do see a lie and have proof of it, I will be one of the first to point it out.
