The game feels so... weak, i been playing for 3 days and i have to admit i feel i wasted 50$.
This game is sad. People that justify this game must be people that never played any other mmo or real video game were you are suppoused to have fun from the get go. Not a month later

Graphics 2/10 = Considering next gen mmos and most mmos out there this game looks like everquest -1
Sound 0/10= wtf is with that scream when you die
Animations 1/10= Worst animations i ever seen on a video game... Full of glitches and ... well you get the idea
Gameplay 1/10= I understand is a free world and you do whatever you want.. .. so is eve and you get more direction on that game. On this game you get trown into the world and thats it.. you figure it out. And i did.. and well.. not much to do besides grind grind..and kill other players with no reason other that getting their items..
All i have to say is DO NOT BUY THIS. dont make my mistake
I played the game with an honest open mentality, expecting nothing. i played ever mmo out there and this one is one of the worst i ever played.

Aside from that I am here to tell you that we all waste time and money on games we wind up disliking. I wasted money buying WoW and hated it. I wasted a significant amount of time playing the Aion beta and hated it.

Listen, i dont like Aion either, i payed for it and i felt i wasted my 5$ for the beta. But still i believe aion is not a bad game, is just i dont like the asian style. But i have to admit that Aion has good things that need to be recognized, like good art, amazing animations, not buggy, good code and alot of other things that game developers understand. Even if i dont like aion i recognize its value as a video game.
I can see no value on darkfall being 50$ on this economy.. this game is worth 10$ max

Anyone handing out 0/10 and 1/10 ratings is nothing but a troll. The game would literally have to steal $20 every time you log in to get a 0 rating.

You might think you are "hardcore" for playing this game.. and there is nothing wrong with that. This game might be for the "hardcore" and a niche market. But you need to play Modern video games.. by modern standards of game design this game is totally bad. I totally dont find acceptable a game like DF
About the art of the game.. i dont like it. But i accept that might be a taste judgment and some people might find the graphics of the game very amuzing. And thats ok

its not that you say its bad, its that you pass your opinion off as fact, and do not back it up with any real substantiative information as to why you found it to be bad. Also, your tone in saying that it is bad effects how people take your post.

It uses the AWARD WINNING Unreal Engine 3 and it is is a houndreds time better than whatever junk engine DF is using.
Just take a look at this and if you honestly think the DF gfx is anywhere near as good then you are blind.

When I called him on this he subsequently added additional information into his post never mentioning the changes? Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun.
Thing that amuses me is that many of the passionate enthusiasts for this game some of which appear to be constantly promoting and defending thier perfect dream game on these forums instead of actually just playing it tend to agree or have at least conceded that:
Darkfalls sounds are so poor that many players just turn sound off.
That the animations and spell effects are dire or at the very least amaturish and lackluster.
That the UI is slow, clunky and unintuitive.
That the game is very harsh and unforgiving for new players and is not even that fun or rewarding for the first few days or even weeks or months untill you get to the "end game" of politics and sieging after progressing you character and joining a clan.
That there is a terrible grind requirement to be competative and long periods of down time.
That there are many bugs and half/poorly implemenented or even missing features.
That the game is very vunerable to hacks and exploits.
That Aventurine and Tasos are liers or at the very least have been misleading and uncomunative many times and continue to be so.
That the server population is very low at least on EU1 and the world is empty and lifeless with sparse MOB distribution.
That the AI for all the PVE is very flakey and easly exploitable and not that fun.
That this game really only has PvP content and nothing much more not even many if any of the other basics you would expect from any MMO over the last decade.
That the developers have made several poor or questionable design decisions like safe zone lazor towers, universal banks, ARAC guilds, poor alignment system, skill based grinding character progression etc.
Yet they all seem surprised and refuse to accept that Darkfall only gets 2/10 or 4/10 scoring mainstream reviews and that at least a few people (troll haters) who have actually payed over 50 dollars for the privalege of playing this wonderfull best game ever dont actualy think its worth over 50 dollars.

I do have to say... this is my humble opinion, you dont have to take it as the truth...the validity of my words are just my personal experience.. dont take it as personal attacks.
But who am i to talk about games right? i been playing video games since 85, and i am currently doing a master on game design, i probably dont know shit about games
My real recomendation from my hearth is that.. try to find a friend that has the game and play it before you buy it, sadly this game doesnt have a trial (no surprise). Try it and think about putting 50$ on this game
. if you find you like it go for it. But remember how many other games are out there that are free to play or games that are 50$ too and what they offer.

@ OP - do you want my help? I'll answer all questions that you have and maybe give you some items and gold if you are nearby. Maybe even get you inside a clan that lives in my city.
EDIT: Lots of people hate their first week, for example my roommate didn't like it very much the first week and almost ragequit because of losing his stuff. But now he is having fun 3 months into the game.

Losing my items and getting ganked doesnt bother me, i actually think is pretty cool. But other problems with the engine turn me off.
I sold my game to someone on ebay for 10$. at least got some of my money back

No shite?! Small world huh? I just got your Email and started Torrent from DF site. Gotta go to work in a few hours but should be done when I get home. Getting about 400 kb/sec from seeds so should take about 9-11 hours to finish. Will leave feedback when I get home.
