jk, it was a pretty decent game at the beginning, but I got tired of the Career mode eventually. It will probably attract me in acouple months though. Battlefield 1942 is another good game if you ask me.
Cannot say as I tried that one. Well WOW is slowly gaining ground on number 3, but UT2k4 has a commanding lead in first place right now.
Why is UT2k4 winning? Its good but HL2 is waaay better.
I think because the UT2k4 community decided they were gonna try and upset HL2. We are thiinking of posting the poll over at Steam to get the HL2 community more involved as well. But yeah I agree H2 is a phenomenal game.
I voted for HL2, also.

Well in the last 4 hours, EQ2 has jumped into the top 5 in votes and WOW has almost tripled in votes. Both of them close to overtaking HL2 and possibly catching UT2k4
Well given that since I put the link to the polls up here at MMORPG we got probably 400 somethin new votes in, with WOW leading the new vote winners. I would love to see WOW take the award.
Why?
Because communtities ultimately decide what game was best and what game wasn't. Most of the games nominated were ood games, a few of them were excellent. But to see Half-Life 2 lose when it has won everything else is not necessarily a bad thing. Especially if its to a great game with a great community. Now granted we have a few more days of voting, but WOW is less than 30 votes out of first place now.
That poll is an absolute joke.
All you have to do if disable cookies and you can vote as many times as you want. So one person(I'm not accusing anything here) could take 10 minutes out of their life and put in 200 votes for WoW. I'm sure it has happened already.. probably to UT2K4.
I don't know how they are choosing Game of the year, but it better not be by looking at this poll.
*waits for a huge jump in WoW or EQ2 because I posted this*

Oh really... Hmm... I will not rest my fingers until I see HL2 on top.

Hmm good to know. Our game of the year will be chosen by the ditors, this is for the game playing public to choose.
They really need to fix it if you can just disable your cookies and vote as many times as you want. Probably would have been better if they just had it where only members of the forums can vote. Most people don't want to spend all the time creating a bunch of accounts just to improve the standing of their game in a poll.

True, guess it was a tad naive to think gamers would settle for just voting once for the game of their choice.
Although the webmaster has confirmed a steady influx of visiotrs to the site all day long, multiple voting or not. I guess he doesn't want to force people to make accounts if they don't want to.
Blizzard has created something special with WoW. Good job...regardless of the rocky start that could have been prevented in OB.
