in Everquest II
Just wondering what is your opinion on selling  stuff from ingame on ebay? I have a friend who almost makes a living from mmorpgs.... Also was wondering if someone would trade me some of the Freeport only house items..not ebay style just ingame but I dont hae the game yet soooo not yet ill have it soon....even sooner if i win it in 3 hours....

    I really dont like it. I mean its a game and there are tons of rules/regs. against it. No offense to your friend but its detrimental to the game and the players to sell in game content on ebay. I can see how its appealing but i would rather play the game rather than buy my way through it.

    Just my opinion.

    How is it detrimental? I don't do, but I don't care if others do. The items/gold was achieved, just not by the person who currently has it. I fail to see how this impacts anything.

    Its detrimental because other players are working they're characters hard, and these guys just go on ebay and bam they are higher than everyone. All content is SOE's property. Why would u spend more real money on these things when the whole idea of the game is to put time into it to get money,lvls,items. In other words the game is not being played its being bought.

    I think, if you work hard for money you should be able to spend it on games where kids can play while you are working and get the advantage all day long!

    its beyond me why people spend more real money on fake game money, items, characters. i would never do it, the whole reason i get them is so i can play my character and make it good myself. but, if other people want to do it, there is nothing i can really do about it. so i tend to ignore it. (or report them if i can get a screenshot of them admitting it.)

    This doesn't explain how it's detrimental. How does someone buying their character hurt you or anyone else? Heck you wouldn't even know if they didn't tell you. Again, I'm way too cheap to actually buy some virtual thing I can get myself by only spending a little bit of time, but if other people want to do who cares?

    why do you think items in eqlive items cost upwards of 10,000 and 50,000 plat? becaue people go to these sites and buy it then spen it ingame. which makes an abundace of ingame money which drives up the the economy and the prices even more. So them people buy even more plat which makes it even worse.

     

    thats why its detrimental.

    ok i have 2 comments about these 2 posts 1st jodokai's question it ruins the ecconmy when people do that it can make all the stuff become realy expensive and i meen in game ecconmy and my 2nd thing is for maverick4136 if you work realy hard to level your char is it realy a game if you have to work?
