EVERQUEST II -
*SoE is charging for :
Screen Shots
Rating Systems
More Character slots
- I mean come on guys, this is a complete business scam. I swear SoE got together with the best businessman and best behavioral psychiatrist not only to get you ADDICTED but to make you spend more on little things that some of us guildman enjoy. Like above... They say that everything is fine and it was a great launch. HAH. There were so many random shutdowns it wasnt even funny.
- You thought questing was bad in EQ I , this is truly an ALL QUESTING GAME. Im sitting at level 25. I have to quest to go to other continents. There is no exploration involved in this game. The trasure drops are horrible. Unique items.. HAH!
- Why is it that as a 25th Ranger I cannot solo for decent EXP! I have to join a full group to EXP!
- DUNGEON ZONES lag worse that the main zones.
-This game is a playstation 2 game with better graphics. Its not the in depth PC RPG's that we love. with the excitment of treasures and exploring.
Anyhow I just HAD to let people know what me and about 8 of my friends feel, after leaving EQ I and waiting for sooooo long for this game.

So my friend, what may I ask is your level and class, what server and how old you are. Just for fun.
I would also like your opinions on what you think the best thing about this game is pls

Actually, I play on the East Coast US on Najena and my normal gaming time is from around 6pm-1am... I know what he's talking about, but it's not always the server... Sometimes they have zone crashes.. Last week Thundering Steppes for instance crashed almost every night around 10:30 pm on Najena for like 4 days straight...
So these "downtimes" he speaks of do exist, however, I don't think it's across all servers or all zones.
Ahh.. Yes Thundering Steppes crashes soooo often its not funny. It usually reverts back as well .. Sometime good sometimes bad if ya know what I mean.

Level, class, server, age all have nothing to do with accuracy, which is all I am seeking.
What's the best thing? Hard to answer that since there isn't much I don't like. I also loved EQ1, and played it for years.
These are my kind of games - perhaps not yours. I don't care whether you like the game or not, nor whether you stay in the game or not. Accuracy in posting is nice though.
If some of you are having more random zone crashing that I am (Mistmoore), then I stand corrected. I've never had TS crash on me yet.
Everquest2 is awesome to play when your on something...... otherwise i dunno....
wow graphics freak me out.
Eve online makes me fall asleep
Everquest 1 is too hard maaan.
Anarchy online is just way too intense.. I end up thinking I really am in the future and shiiitt
FPS games Im not good at
that leaves everquest... Its so cool cause people will like talk to you and tell you stories and stuff... You get to really go adventure and find stuff... combats intense, i felt like I was in the lord of the rings... fighting those orcs in first person view with the graphics turned way up... hell its art if you look at it that way.... man either smoke something new or I dunno what to tell you
yer cool dood Im digging that post. yes its nice to have quests. but i like to solo alot. get into my own world. know what I mean.

sup dood, harsh night? Accuracy is good. I think everything I asked of you was realative. My main comment is. this game is for the younger inexpirienced gamers.

i really dont see what wickes age has to do with anything. maybe if he had flamed yuo with incohearant (sp?) comments that made no vallid points. All his points were valid. And i have to admit i have never heard of anyone complaining about too many quests befor.
i do however agree with oyu about the charactres slots tho. that almost sent me over the edge myself.

Hey man.. I have to disagree with you here... younger inexperienced gamers are not patient enough for EQ2. In my experience, they are the ones who are into hack n slash type games with alot of action. It's the seasoned experienced gamers who look for deeper aspects of a game. For instance, in EQ2, there's ALOT of quests to be learned by seeking out books of knowledge with sages and such. I don't think a young inexperienced gamer would be into this as much as just going out and seeking an XP group to level. And as we all know, seeking a pickup group in EQ2 is quite dangerous with the shared debt system in the game.
this game has way too much of a grind for younger players and combat gets much more difficult at higher levels... you will get reamed if your lvl 35 and play like a 12 year old hehe or never get grouops....wells unless ur a healer
Yeah I have to agree, EQ1&2 are heavily adult games. I see less kids than in any other game I've played. Personally, I prefer it that way
As far as soloing, you know, I like to solo too, although I like grouping more. It's tough to find a game that focuses on both. When soloing is too feasible, people tend not to want to group ... always the path of least resistance. And if people can solo the game, there's reduced incentive to group. But to me beating challenges with a group of friends is about as good as it gets, so my main game is always going to be one that forces grouping. I know not everyone can do it, but my personal approach is to keep two games running. Mostly I play EQ2 (previously EQ1), but then I have something else running (atm, Eve, but I don't think for long) so that I can solo more when I feel like it. And I also find it an intriguing challenge to try to solo in games that make it difficult to solo ... e.g., in EQ1, I could always find something, although it really wasn't worthwhile after mid 50s or so.
I guess I don't agree with most of what you posted specifically, although the general idea I understand.
Extra slots is the only thing that really costs MORE. It's $7.00 more per month for an extra 4 char slots. Not worth it IMHO, but I already know several ppl with more than one account.
Magelo as previously described costed money too, they charge a buck to keep your stats so you can link them if you want.
SS's are free, use them all you want. You'd pay .99 to have them host 10MB of them for you. Dunno who would, but hey, 10MB of unlimited BW is probly decent for someone with no other hosting ability. Plus it's convenience and some people are internet newbs.
The kid game comment is way off. That might apply to WoW, I know it did in Beta, but it certainly doesn't apply to EQ2. I've been in many many groups, and not once has anyone said "My dad told me I have to get off the computer" 20 min after we entered a 1 hr dungeon crawl, which happened to me weekly in WoW.

I have found that when I group with one other person...preferably a healer. I get the most out of my time.
The two of us can pretty much continually pull group blus...and some time those solo group whites...but we were earning exp like crazy. And if there is a group wipe out...it's not a ton of shared debt.
Right.. in EQ2 you are more likely to here "My wife will divorce me if I don't log right now."
lol my woman plays too =/ by the way all. how do ya like this nice downtime. on a friday. I got off work at 2:30am dec 18th and they are still down. heh . this is what happens to most of us late nighters. cept this is a long downtime it was like this in the beginning.. not so bad now days. cept the thunderous steppes crashes.
