What do you do when you're feeling blue?

Just wondering, we've all had those days. Things aren't going great, you sit there feeling like crap and wonder why things aren't going the way they should. What are your own personal solutions?

I usually just play some games and watch some stand up comedy to get my mind of whatever's bothering me.

Find and submit valuable intelligence to terrorist organizations

It makes you feel like your handing away your bad day to someone else

Usually watch a Judd Appatow movie.  Pineapple Express is my current go-to movie when I'm feeling down.  Though I think Funny People may take that spot when it releases.

And smoke pot.  Can't forget that, though I do that for good days too.

I've been feeling blue lately.. since I got drunk last night. that's depresents for you.

the best cure for feeling blue is probably self-improvement (or empowerment) of some sort

like actively looking for a job or excercising

or going out just to take your mind off things (without much drinking)

    Amen to the pot thing.

I tend to smoke some, play some music, read something that's witty (Been really into re-reading the Zombie Survival Guide/World War Z) and in general remember one+ thing.

Atleast I don't have to deal with mass genocide, teenage-hood, and in general rather decent life-style.

I too submit valuable information to terrorist groups. Such as baking guides for caves and how-to's on such matters as "Find your donkey in the canyons during fire fights".

I take a walk; sometimes down by the brook, sometimes up through the woods behind my house. About half the time I take the dog. That helps bring my perspective and balance back. Surrounded by natures beauty it's hard to stay sad.

If the weather is crappy I turn on some game and kill stuff :)

I went through a rough patch with our area experaicing 100 + heat no rain severe drought conditions. It did affect my mood and the intense heat drained me of all energy.

We had a break in the weather i acautly sat on front porch and for the first time in 60 + days watched a storm in coming and clapped for rain. Many  neighbors were outside playing in the rain being very thankful that the brown yards dying trees/garden was getting a much needed break as well as a slight cool down.

Tricks i use. I have a favorite stash of movies. Lotr triology, Jurssaik park disatar films. I start at the begining and watch them straight through. That usually picks up my spirits. I find my ole favorite well worn books and start reading them again.

Silly thing but start counting my blessings and sing a very old religous song of "count your blessings name them one by one"....

I start with i am grateful for by the time i list 10 things I already start to feel better. I look in my pantry and my freezer ever grateful for what we have.

Pet dogger give her a bone and watch her go to town. From time to time i treat her with a roll of paper towels watch her in delight tearing them up having a ball....Put on my favorite oldie goldie cd's sing off key loudly while doing chores....

Focus energy on how lucky i am in spite of my physical limitions/severe disablity  and focus on all the things i can sill do .

Try and do one kind unexpected thing for a neighbor or family member.  By doing something nice for someone else it most certainly helps ....

I do this when I'm mad at someone Zoey.  If I have an argument with a friend, or get mad at someone for really any reason, I just go out and buy them something or think of something else nice to do for them.  It seems odd but it's a really easy way for me to get over being angry with people.

Hmm, pot. I've tried it a few times, maybe I should give it another try but on a crap day and see if it helps. :)
