More weapon styles?

I really like swords, and I want to be a Warrior, but I don't want to use a shield!:(

 

Is there anywhere it can be recommended to just use a sword and no shield?:O

I heard that you can get special stuff in the other hand instead!

 

Or maybe they will implant two handed swords or dual wielding in later?:o

    if you have seen (after posting this thread), there are many requests for Dual Welding, and if you look in the GW forums at fan sites and so on, you`ll see that there will be Dual Welding and Skills for it, we just have to wait some time image

    Hum dual wield not in the first chapter i think .
    3 months before the release add a new "skill tree" no way man :) , because there is 150 skill per profession and its largely enought.

    Well even if they don't have dual wielding in the beginning then

    can you not just use a two handed sword.

    Hehe, You  like sword huh? Who doesn't but you want to use a sword without a shield hmmm... They call that a 2handed sword twice the size as a normal sword and twice the power but you better have some strong armor because the downside is that you can't use a shield but you like that aspect. I'm sure GW will have them as they have 2h hammers and axes.

    Its gonna be a mass hack N slash come Februaryimage

    Oh yeah! As they promised that they will be adding new skills every chapter. The content may be overwhelming, since they are only working on content at the moment. Just think about it, the map iteslf is pretty big for exploring already, with each expansion, they can add new skills, new places on the map or expand the map along with creating a large beastiary set, wow, that will be amazing.

    One thing I am wondering. Obviously people will have more than one character for their account. However, if the first chapter that will be released after the full game will include a new race, I hope that ArenaNet will consider increasing the max amount of characters an account can hold. Also, what would the diffferent race have different in stats compared to the humans right now? Currently, humans don' have restrictions to heir classes, what would this make the new class? Something to think about while waiting for this game.

    I'd wrather have 2h swords then sword + shield. But unless thats gonna be in release I'll stick with my war pick from gamestop xD

    well i am not planning on playing a warrior type, i am plannin on a nec/element and an element/monk but i wouldn't mind adding different types of weapons for them, and maybe dual-wielding staves and rods just as long as they are not too poweful, as to not unbalance the game.

    I replyed before but I have to do it again. People this game has not hit shelves yet correct? So don't have a ulcer trying to get what you think should be in the game across. Come on now think what rpgs have you played that don't have 3 handed weapons in it, I played quite a few  and they all had  2 handed weapons. I'm more concerned with dual weapons myself, but I can live without them if they don't choose to have 'em.

    There are other items you can hold in your hands like icons, and stick-like objects that will give a raise to energy and skills,  but if your going sword, i would go shield because soem shields will really give you some good skill  boosts. I didn't see your secondary profession, but if it is a spell caster, i would say go for icons and "energy sticks" they really help a ton for spell casters
