after playing for a day i dont understand why ppl hate this game. its got pretty graphics and combat is really diffrent and fun. so i guess its diffrent from person to person as to how they experience the game. for me its just fun and i guess thats all we need otherwise we would find somethin else 2do. but play before you judge.
I do not think that folk "hate this game" as you say, but more that they get annoyed by some of the DF fans claims about how brilliant and fun the game is, and that anyone who disagrees should go play WoW because they do not have the high Inteligence necessary to find fun in the game. They fail to see issues that have caused players to cancel their account, and can not understand how any one with an ounce of sense who enjoys full loot pvp could even suggest that the game fails to entertain after a certain amount of play.
The game is brilliant, and if a fan doesn't validate another persons feelings it's quite childish to become annoyed. A gamer having a different experience may not relate to the "issues" that led one to cancel their account, and that is not the same as "failing to see". One can turn that around and say those who don't currently play "fail to see". Silly. If the game isn't for a person, great; there are plenty of other game to play. Odd people stay annoyed so long over a game they don't continue to play.
I played for about 4 months, would have kept my account open longer just as a way to sponsor the game giving devs the time to add content and fluff, anything to make the necessary steps to become competitive enjoyable, or give you something fun to do when you dont really feel like looking for pvp . The first few weeks were ok, but play soon became rather boring. I only got enjoyment out of PvP and sieging, but needed to pve to become competitive and did not want to do what those who hate the gameplay did -leave my computer on all day/night macroing or at the blood wall, also refused to hack or exploit mobs as so many did.
It's unfortunate, because the state of the game now, and at release in NA was far superior to the game you played.
Anyway, there you have it ... my story. I keep up with this forum for 2 reasons still.
First, I still hope to see the game live up to its full potential and be given a reason to return.
Second, I do not like seeing fellow gamers being given reports on a game which are plainly misleading or wrong. I have a huge problem with that and beleive this is done with the purpose to get folk to plop down their $50.00 to create income for the developers.
Keep it honest and informative and you would see a very different DF forum.
Keeping it honest means to put more weight on those opinions from people who are playing the game in its current state on a new server, then on the experiences on EU, which were VERY different.

many of us think that WOW is like a mindless, repetitive job that you're expect to pay for but that doesn't mean one should hang out on the WOW forums whining about how bad the game is unless one is desperately short of attention IRL.
some people love the things i hate about WOW, good for them. What YOU find a horrible feature others probably find refreshing, or great.

So I have to ask, you find CS knife fighting refreshing?

If you know of any good videos that show me to be wrong, please link and Ill be more than happy to take a look and just maybe be pleasantly surprised.

Character progression is the core mechanic for MMOs. You'll eventually realise that.
