Where do I get the non-combat pets from?

I read in a thread that you could get your own non-combat pet that is completely useless other than having a tiny critter follow you around for pure entertainment.  But as a roleplayer, I love pets, and I want a critter to follow me around for no reason whatsoever.

This URL says pets are available, and according to someone in another thread, you gotta talk to an NPC and you can get one.  But where???  I asked around in-game, no one was able to answer me.

Do you?

If possible, do you know where to get on as an undead?   Also are they cheap?  Please don't tell me I have to be Level 40 or more just to own one, and I hope they aren't 1 gold or more.

    If I'm not mistaken I have heard from a friend that there are mechanical squirels (sorry for bad spelling) that are made by engeneers. Look for the closest engineer in town I would say ::::39::

    Oh and don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but at the webpage under the profession enginering stands it as well ::::39::

    Booty Bay has a Parrot vendor. I believe he's in the first building on the left after leaving the boat.

    yeah some places other will tell ya can get in game or if also you bought collectors edition lol 3 pets choices then read up if ya havnt on it hehe.

    theres a little spot east of Ironforge that has a kid running around chasing a rabbit. He sells them.

    Theres also a guy in Darnassas(Night elf main city) that sells owls.

    If i remember correctly there is a guy in Undercity or Orgrimmar that sells cockroaches.

    Im not sure, but i think all non-combat pets cost 50 S (all i know is that this is the price of a cockroach)
