Is it safe to put my credit card on it I mean it is WB they won't leak it out or anything. Have many of the 500 signe dup?

I used my card, and so far no activity. Of course I called my Visa company and told them to notify me by phone if any charges come out this week for any reason, <not using the card except for MXO>
It seems safe now, can't say in a week or two.

I will tell you this. I dont feel comfortable giving my CC # to these people in order to participate it a "free" beta test. I have played numerous betas and never has one asked me for one.
Even though I did win one of the tickets I am not going to participate because in my opinion the CC requirement is unnecessary and will likely end up charging the people who did provide one under some hidden clause in the agreement. To which they will later respond "well if you had read the TOS you would have known we were going to charge you $30 for this beta blah blah blah"
I just havent got time for the pain. I have plenty on my plate right now and while it would have been cool to test out a MMO based on such a great environment I wont be suckered into paying for it by some sneaky corporation.

First off they need the CC # to make sure your 18. Second they need to make sure your 18 becuase its a JOB to participate in closed beta, so if you dont like that, and you just wanted to play for fun, then closed isnt for you. if its out of closed beta already then id be surprised. but closed is closed.
Why would they risk to ruin their reputation by stealing money from people for no reason?
Well. I think this just shows how paranoid gamers really are.
MXO is giving you a chance to be a beta tester...for free.
The have simple requests. Including name, address, email, and your credit card.
But simple requests are to much for free things? Why is this so? If you are playing any other MMORPG then you have probably provided your credit card information to them.
If this is okay then why be so upset about MXO doing that?
And where does this...jesus they are going to charge me...secretly...come from? No one can charge you secretly. An charging has to be disclosed before the charge takes effect or you can dispute it and your credit card will take the charge away.
It just doesn't make sense to me why you would be paranoid about it.
Take the plunge and come enjoy the beta like 1000's of other people are doing. They need all the help they can get...otherwise why would they be giving out so many passes?

They are messing with your mind man..... when you give your card details they can check your address so the agents can come and get you !!!!!
hehe, just so strange to see people still in the grasps of paranoia these days. Seriously guys the majority of poeple who pay for things on the net are not robbed ..... you just need to know who you are giving your card details to.

It's safe, man. If you're paranoid, you can always get a pre-paid master card. Works kinda like a phone card.
But there's been no activity from them on my card in the month or so since I gave it to them. I know a bit about what they're running for systems, and I can say that it's about as secure as it can possibly get.
That said, get yer butt in beta!!! you're missing out!!

How many of you who are paranoid about the CC issue use BitTorrent and drill a hole through your firewall to allow incoming connections?
I guess we all have our paranoias, and that one is mine
There's no freakin' way I'd do that....
I will on the other hand, give my CC number to most reputable businesses without batting an eye, and WB is one of those.
