Butterfly Sword Online

This game looks really interesting to me.  Has anyone heard of it or is playing it currently? I cannot play because the main site is in Chinese and the site translators skip the flash animations.

below is the trailer for the game

This game is based on a chinese martial arts novel.  Pretty famous since I was growing up.  It was a story about martial arts and assassins trained from childhood and romance.

A few TV series, movies, and games were made from this, but most of the games were not that good.

This one is a new one to me though, didn't know they were planning on making this mmo.

there is a better version called Blade&Soul by ncsoft in develpment =D

    now: GW2 (11 80s).
    Dark Souls 2.
    future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord.
    "Bro, do your even fractal?"
Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

I wonder if NCsoft is too busy with Aion and are kind of putting BS.. umm I mean B&S on hold for a bit.

Dont think so, I believe that NCsoft Korea is working on Blade and Soul while most of NCsoft Europe handle Aion. No fact yet tho just speculationl.

I watched the video and the game flows as smooth as an animated movie.    The character can move in more ways than I have seen in other games.    I didn't see any blood and guts flying through the air during a battle (maintaining the fact that I am battling a graphic and not a living person).  I look forward to playing this game.

After reading the game's outline, I found:  An instance can be redone with a variation, which is an added bonus.  And, crafting will be done in 2 ways: drops from a boss and by gathering.   I don't like crafting so I am happy it will not only be gathering.

I don't think this is the same game as the OP's.  This one is from like 6-8 years ago, it was made to be a online action game, but it was poorly designed.  I know because I bought it years ago and tossed it away. LOL  The novel, TV series, and movie was great, but some of the games made from it are just disastrous.  The one in OP's post hopefully will be nothing like it.

Well, I was gonna post a chart I found somewhere of the NCSoft releases but that would probably qualify as thread derailment. Nevertheless, BS is not on hold.

As for Butterfly Sword, I ~really~ like that vertical movement. Fighting during a jump and running along the walls is a nice feature, more MMO should have that (at least for assassin-type classes). I'd give it a try whenever Beta came along, but I don't have a lot of hope for it considering the theme and origin. Having played Jade Dynasty, Martial Heroes, Thang, etc., most of these games start to feel the same after a while >_< I guess the same could be said about fantasy games though.

the "freeness" of movement is what is most appealing to me. I hope that its planned to be released in NA/EU. That other video of the tutorial does seem more dated.  If the gameplay is good i dont mind the story being average. However it seems that they have a rich IP to pull from.
