not that im counting or anything on how much time i have left until i get EQ2 (*cough* 5 days 25 minutes) but im really really excitied. since i cant post on the official eq2 forums, im gonna ask 2 "last minute" questions here:

i wanna be a shadowknight. do i have to start in freeport and would a kerra make a good shadowknight?

whats a good server to join? i want a server with plenty of people on it, but not so huge im constantly in a crowded area. i also want one that has a reputation for a helpful community. it doesnt matter if its RP or not.

thx, looking forward to seeing u in eq2 ::::02::

Glad to hear your gettin it! I play as a Kerra and I would have to say a kerra probably wouldn't make the best shadowknight. You should probably go with more of a fighter type of race. Kerras do make awesome scouts though!

Pretty much any server with light or medium load would be fine. I play on Oggok which has a light load, but never to few people. Also everyone has seemed very cool so far. Good luck!

I played a few different race/class combinations in Beta, from what I've noticed, the race of the player has very little impact on how well they are played.

I had a Ratonga SK in beta, and he was VERY fun to play and made a great tank, Kerran should be no different

I play on Guk server, it's very crowded, but with the way zones are instanced, it's not bad at all, it actually makes it easier for some aspects of the game having multiple instances to choose from...

The population on Guk is pretty decent, In the Freeport area you will find alot of very helpful and nice people, oddly enough, I've heard that the "good" people that hang around Qeynos are not as nice :P

Race doesn't make too much of a difference. I play an Inquisitor (Cleric) and I have tank friends that are Kerras, Dark Elves, and even Ratonga. They do just fine. I know this is said all the time but play the race you think would be most fun.

You don't have to start in Freeport to be a shadowknight, but you have to end up there. You can start in Qeynos and do a quest to switch to Freeport, but you have to do it before you choose your final class. So if you wanted to make a High Elf Shadowknight you would have to start in Qeynos (the only place High Elves can start) then defect to Freeport, then become a Shadowknight. Kerra can start in either city.

However, keep in mind that the "Betrayal Quest" which is what you must do to convert from a Qeynos Citizen to a Freeport Citizen is IMPOSSIBLE to do solo.  You must start the quest sometime before level 18 and it's suggested that you either find or have some friends on "the other side" to help you out because once you start the quest, you are no longer welcome in Qeynos (i.e. You can't enter).

The last thing to keep in mind is, make sure you collect the contents of your home BEFORE you start the quest otherwise you'll have to add someone as an owner to your home there (somehow, remotely) and then have them collect your things and bring them to you.  Otherwise they are lost for good.
